A 45-year-old Clarion man faces allegations he assaulted two police officers during a Feb. 2 incident that began along State Route 68 in Piney Township and ended with a manhunt after he escaped from Clarion Hospital.

Smoke forces Edgewood Heights evacuation

NEW BETHLEHEM – Edgewood Heights personal care home in New Bethlehem was evacuated at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Feb. 2 after an air unit outside the building malfunctioned, causing smoke to enter the kitchen area through a vent.

STANLEY, N.Y. – Delores Jean Watson Stahlman, 84, of Stanley, N.Y., formerly of Oil City, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012, at her home.

Delores was born in 1927, in Scotch Hill, the daughter of Gladys and James Watson.

She attended Scotch Hill grade school and graduated in 1944, from Clarion High School.

In the rematch, not so much.

Clarion County commissioners Jan. 24 approved a 9-1-1 Triennial Plan and a 9-1-1 Telephone Access Plan.

Clarion County Commissioners Wayne Brosius, Butch Campbell, and Greg Faller approved the 9-1-1 Triennial Plan, which implements a county-wide centralized communication center to dispatch all county emergency services.

The Clarion Area School District will be saving more than originally anticipated through its recent bond refinancing.

Clarion Area School Board recently gave final approval to a resolution for bond refinancing that will save the district approximately $145,000.
