Plant closing is a blow to borough coffers

CLARION Aside from lost jobs and lost related trade with other area businesses, the announced closing of the Owens-Illinois glass plant will hit borough tax revenues hard. Possibly to the tune of $61,000 from the glass plant alone. That is an amount equal to about two mills of real estate taxes in the borough.
