The Virginia creeper, an unsung hero of fall foliage

The poet spoke of the red leaves of woodbine on old stone walls as part of the appeal of October. Woodbine, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, is often called Virginia creeper. By any name it is an attractive plant when autumn approaches.
