Submitted photo Tara Williams (left)a Clarion Area High School student, with high school principal Randy Cathcart, was recently named a semifinalist in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program. Williams’ scores placed her in the top 1 percent of more than 1.5 million students nationally who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Williams now stands eligible to move into the finalist bracket and to be awarded a National Merit Scholarship. Tara is the daughter of Charles and Kim Williams of Shippenville.
