Clarion-Limestone sets kindergarten registration

CLARION TWP. The ClarionLimestone Elementary School is currently registering children for the 2020-2021 kindergarten program.

Enrollment packets are now available for pick up at the high school cafeteria on meal distribution days -- May 21, 26, 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There is an online registration form to begin the enrollment process.

Visit http://www.clasd.net and click the Kindergarten Registration 2020-2021 tab near the middle of the page.

You will find several videos to help you through the process and the packet. You will also find the online registration form.

To be eligible to enroll in kindergarten, a child must be 5 years of age prior to July 1, 2020.

Registration will also include first graders for the 2020-2021 school term who are not attending kindergarten classes this year.

Screenings will be held at the elementary the last week of July. When you pick up a packet, you will sign up for a July appointment. During that July appointment your child will be screened, and the office and nurse will verify your residency proof, child's birth certificate, and immunization records.

Your child is required to have all immunizations completed and proof must be submitted during registration. The requirements for attendance in all grades are as follows:

Four doses of DtaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis one dose on or after fourth birthday);

Four doses of IPV (polio -- fourth dose on or after fourth birthday and at least 6 months after previous dose given);

Two doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella);

Three doses of hepatitis B;

Two doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or evidence of immunity.

The only exemptions to the school laws for immunizations are: medical reasons, religious beliefs, philosophical/strong moral or ethical conviction.

Statements of exemption must be provided in writing.

If your child is exempt from immunizations, he or she may be removed from school during an outbreak.

Please note the state may change the immunization requirements!

We look forward to serving you and your child.
