Cooking in English

During English class, West Forest seventh-grade students had the opportunity to use their research, reading, and teamwork skills as well as practice following directions to do a culminating activity of making an appetizer or dessert from another country. These particular seventh-graders (from left) Jess Culver, Tori Brown, Izzy Flick, and Katie Salsgiver tried their hand at making a dessert. Students learned the importance of reading all of the directions and precisely following recipes. Students enjoyed working together and sampling the recipes which included eggnog from Puerto Rico, macaroons, pretzels, and cappuccino mousse.
