Area schools list menus

CLARION Clarion County schools announce the following breakfast and lunch menus.

Unless otherwise indicated, all breakfasts include fruit and/or juice and milk, and all lunches include milk.

Clarion Area

Lunch

Elementary students also have the option of choosing fruit and cheese cheez-it munchables, yogurt and fruit munchables, uncrustable or peanut butter and jelly munchables as an entree daily. High school students also have an option of pizza, deli sandwiches or salad entree daily.

Oct. 18: Elementary and high school homemade meatballs on garlicy bun (elementary) homemade meatball hoagie (high school) Lay's potato chip choice, garden salad and fruit juice variety

Oct. 19: Elementary Big Daddy pizza with or without pepperoni, crunchy vegetables with ranch dip and chilled fruit variety and high school (french fry day) french fries with homemade chili or blazin buffalo chicken with cheese sauce, warm cornbread and chilled fruit variety

Oct. 20: Elementary and high school creamed chicken over biscuit, mashed potatoes with gravy, steamed green beans and mini chocolate chip cookies

Oct. 21: Elementary and high school soft pretzel with cheese sauce, string cheese sticks, homemade chicken noodle soup, vegetable and sorbet choice

Oct. 22: Elementary mini pancake choice, sausage patties, hash brown pattie and fruit juice variety and high school chicken sandwich, hash brown triangles and fruit juice variety

Breakfast

Breakfast includes fresh fruit and fruit juice daily.

Oct. 18: Elementary and highs school sausage, egg and cheese bagel

Oct. 19: Elementary and high school Otis Spunkmeyer blueberry muffin

Oct. 20: Elementary and high school ham, egg and cheese croissant

Oct. 21: Elementary and high school old fashioned powdered donuts

Oct. 22: Elementary and high school sausage, egg and cheese muffin

Lunch

Also available daily is peanut butter and jelly, low fat yogurt, string cheese, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, milk varieties, fruit juice and fresh garden salads.

Oct. 18: Elementary and high school grilled hot dogs with chili and cheese sauce and barbecue baked beans or pepperoni pizza

Oct. 19: Elementary and high school walking tacos, Spanish style rice and steamed kernel corn or pepperoni pizza

Oct. 20: Elementary and high school French toast sticks, maple sausage links and hash brown patty or pepperoni pizza

Oct. 21: Elementary and high school chicken sandwich, crunchy spiral fries and steamed green beans or pepperoni pizza

Oct. 22: Elementary and high school breaded ravioli with marinara sauce and vegetable medley or pepperoni pizza

Union

Breakfast

Breakfast includes breakfast special or alternative whole grain choice and fruit choice.

Oct. 20: Elementary assorted pop tarts and high school fruit topped Texas toast

Oct. 21: Elementary mini pancakes and high school cinnamon roll

Oct. 22: Elementary breakfast sausage pizza and high school breakfast sandwich on bagel

Lunch

Also available daily is a chef salad, assorted vegetables and fruit.

High school clux deluxe chicken or homemade chili with cornbread

Oct. 19: Elementary chicken nuggets or yogurt munchable

CLARION - Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education, working with the State System Foundation, has taken a major step to help prevent dropout among at-risk students by launching the Keystone Extraordinary Emergency Program (KEEP).

KNOX - Knox Lions Club September Student of the Month is Leia Bauer a senior at Keystone High School who was presented with her certificate of achievement and monetary gift by Lion Bill Black.

CLARION - The 2021-22 Clarion University Theatre season will open Sept. 22 with "Laughing Wild," a comedy by Christopher Durang. The production will run at 8 p.m. from Sept. 22 to 25, with a 2 p.m. matinee performance on Sept. 26, all in Marwick-Boyd Little Theatre.

CLARION - Brianna Van Tassel, a recent graduate of Keystone High School and Emma Smith a recent graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School each received a $500 scholarship from the Kiwanis Club of Clarion during a program held in June.

CLARION - Clarion University Physics Department will present Stars over Clarion at (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) 7 p.m. Sept. 2 in Donald D. Peirce Planetarium, located in Grunenwald Science and Technology Center.

CLARION - Clarion University's TRIO Talent Search has been awarded a five-year grant through the U.S. Department of Education. Disbursed in annual installments of $463,217, the grant totals $2,316,085 and provides funding the program from September 2021 through August 2026.

CLARION - Need to brush up on your test-taking skills or gain assistance reviewing for the SAT or ACT? Clarion University's Educational Talent Search will host two SAT review sessions in Ralston Hall, Clarion Campus.

FOXBURG The Allegheny-Clarion Valley Class of 2021 held their graduation Wednesday, May 26, in the high school gymnasium in Foxburg. Forty-four students participated in graduation activities with parents, family, and friends in attendance.

TIONESTA - Once again this year, the Keystone SMILES' AG Day was cancelled. However, the second graders in Mrs. Brannon's class did not miss out and participated in the field trip in a bag.

KNOX - Knox Lions Club May Student of the Month is Abbey Henry a senior at Keystone High School who was presented with her certificate of achievement and monetary gift by Lion Henry.
