Union School District opens kindergarten survey

SLIGO Union School District is conducting a survey to determine the number of children eligible to enter kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year at the Sligo Elementary School.

Kindergarten screenings for the 2021-22 school year will be held Thursday, May 6 and Friday, May 7, at Sligo Elementary School. Parents may schedule an appointment for the screening process. To enroll in kindergarten, a child must be five years of age on or before July 2.

A parent orientation meeting for parents and guardians will be held at 6 p.m. April 22, at the Sligo Elementary School. The session will be an exchange of information between school and home. Parents will have an opportunity to meet the principal, school nurse, kindergarten teachers, special education director, food service director, and transportation director.

All immunizations must be up to date before a child enters kindergarten or first grade.
