FOXBURG The Allegheny-Clarion Valley Class of 2021 held their graduation Wednesday, May 26, in the high school gymnasium in Foxburg. Forty-four students participated in graduation activities with parents, family, and friends in attendance.

Brent Edward Hetrick was the valedictorian, with Andrea Elizabeth Meals as the salutatorian. Felicia Texter was the keynote speaker.

Hetrick is the son of Royce and Karen Hetrick of Emlenton. Along with achieving academic excellence, he was the president of the Class of 2021, National Honor Society and a member of the walk and job club. He was also musically talented and participating in musicals, choir, band, All-State choir and All-State band.

He received senior awards for Emlenton Civic Club Scholarship, Jack Rowley Music Award, Franklin Elks Scholarship, Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence and Glenn Karnes Memorial Scholarship.

Hetrick will attend SUNY Fredonia for musical theater. After college, he will make a career from performing shows all around the nation.

Meals, is the daughter of Mike and Karen Meals of Foxburg. Along with achieving academic excellence, she is a member of volleyball, basketball, and softball teams.

She was the vice president of the walk and job club, a member of the prom committee and National Honor Society. Senior awards include Female Senior Athlete Scholarship, Glenn Karns Scholarship, Emlenton Civic Club Scholarship, St. John's Trust Fund Scholarship, KSAC All-Conference second team in volleyball.

Meals will attend Thiel College majoring in early childhood and special education in the fall.

Keynote speaker, Texter, is a sixth-grade teacher at Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District. She started her career at A-C Valley in 1983 at that time she was the elementary gym teacher until 1997. After many years as being the gym teacher, she moved to the sixth-grade classroom. She has been teaching fellow sixth-graders ever since.

In June 2021, she will be retiring to enjoy the sand, sun and fun. She loves to travel, swim, scuba dive, snow ski, read and enjoy time with friends and family.

The administration, faculty, and staff of Allegheny-Clarion Valley extended sincere congratulations to all of the graduates from the Class of 2021 and wished them all good luck in their future endeavors.
