Redbank student donates personal care packages

Redbank Valley eighth-grade student Gage Duncan is shown with care packages that he was able to purchase due to a $500 donation from Sagamore VFW and then was able to put together the items for distribution to fulfill a project for Dr. Harmon’s civic action class at school. Duncan presented the care packages to Public Relations, Office Manager Stephanie Seidle-Weaver to be distributed to individuals in Clarion County’s Roads to Recovery program. The care packages included 25 book bags with toiletries, blankets, stationery and a shower caddy. Also, the ladies Auxiliary of Sagamore VFW made a donation to the continuing education for the employees of Roads to Recovery. Roads to Recovery provides peer mentors to serve as role models in recovery who encourage individuals to seek treatment when necessary, maintain wellness, take an active role in their own treatment plans and attend self-help groups. For more information on peer support services, contact Stephanie at (814) 226-5126.
