Brown earns doctorate in ministry

ROCHESTER, N.Y. The Doctor of Ministry degree was conferred upon Rev. Gary Brown of Emlenton during commencement on May 17 at Northeastern Seminary, Rochester, New York.

Brown's dissertation is titled, Vocational Discernment for Millennials within God's Creation Mandate.

He worked with a group of 10 young adults, born between 1982 and 1999, administeringpersonality and giftedness assessments and givingeach participantaresulting profile.

On Sunday, June 23, Brown concluded a five-year ministry at New Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, as he enters retirement.

He and wife, Ann, are moving to Winnebago, Illinois.He will be a part-time staff member withthe recently merged parishes of Winnebago Evangelical Fellowship, an E.C. church,and thenearby Westlake Village, a young evangelical free congregation.

The two have formed thePark Hills Winnebagochurch, a campus of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church inFreeport. Brown pastored Winnebago Evangelical Fellowship from 1992 to 2000.
