All information contained in the following police reports is taken directly from official state police releases, unless otherwise noted.

Natural death

GREEN TWP. Tpr. Shawn Nicewonger of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a 78-year-old Marienville man was found unresponsive in a locked vehicle at 11:20 a.m. Oct. 5 along Guitonville Road in Green Township, Forest County.

A window was broken out of the vehicle so medical personnel could treat the man.

The man subsequently died at the scene.

The Forest County coroner responded to the scene. It was determined the man suffered several medical ailments and his death was ruled natural.

No suspicious circumstances exist in the case.

DUIs alleged

FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Christopher Smith of the state police barracks at Marienville reports an 18-year-old Tionesta man faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance at 8:55 p.m. Sept. 4 along state routes 36 and 66 in Leeper in Farmington Township after he was stopped for a traffic law violation.

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Robert S. Hageter Jr. reports a 59-year-old Rimersburg man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol at 9:32 a.m. Oct. 11 along Curllsville Road in Monroe Township after he was stopped for a traffic law violation.

JENKS TWP. Tpr. William Gerg of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a 19-year-old Wexford man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance at 2:13 p.m. Oct. 18 along State Route 66 in Jenks Township, Forest County, after he was stopped for a traffic law violation.

A 22-year-old Pittsburgh man who was a passenger in the vehicle faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.

ELDRED TWP. Tpr. Christopher Smith of the state police barracks at Marienville reports an 18-year-old Limestone, N.Y., man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance at 5:09 p.m. Oct. 17 along State Route 36 in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, after he was stopped for a traffic law violation and police detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana in the vehicle.

Couple allegedly bites each other

LIMESTONE TWP. Tpr. Stephen Galmarini reports a 26-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, both of Mayport, face charges after they allegedly bit each other during an altercation at 8:59 p.m. Oct. 16 along Cyphert Lane in Limestone Township. Police responded to the scene following a 9-1-1 hang-up call.

Driver seriously injured in crash

PORTER TWP. Tpr. Stephen Galmarini reports Cassandra I. Smith, 26, Templeton, suffered suspected serious injuries at 6:47 p.m. Oct. 16 along State Route 861 in Porter Township when she lost control of her 2006 Hyundai Sonata and struck a tree.

Smith was not wearing a seat belt. She was transported via medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Theft

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports an ongoing investigation of theft at noon Aug. 28 along South Reidsburg Road in Monroe Township. The victim is a 42-year-old Summerville woman. The incident report was posted Oct. 15.

Criminal mischief

CLARION TWP. -- Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports an investigation of alleged criminal mischief sometime between Oct. 6 and 13 along U.S. Route 322 in Clarion Township. The victim is a 62-year-old Corsica man. No further information was released.

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports a 26-year-old Brookville man faces charges of criminal mischief at 12:55 a.m. Oct. 16 along South Fifth Avenue in Clarion Township after he allegedly damaged a window at a residence owned by a 34-year-old Clarion woman.

Crash injures two

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports two people were injured in a 5:07 p.m. Oct. 11 two-vehicle crash along Magness Road in Monroe Township.

Rodney S. Troup, 49, Sligo, operating a southbound 2008 Chevrolet Silverado truck, allegedly struck a northbound 2010 Hyundai Elantra operated Madison R. Greenawalt, 20, Mayport.

Troup and his 8-year-old female passenger were wearing safety restraints. The girl suffered a possible unspecified injury.

Greenawalt and her passenger, Dylan A. Struble, 22, Hawthorn, were wearing seat belts. Greenawalt suffered a suspected minor injury.

Both vehicles were disabled by the crash.

Magness Towing, Clarion Hospital EMS and Sligo Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Troup was cited for a traffic law violation.

Lost wallet found

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports a 70-year-old Sligo woman reported her wallet was taken at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 29 from the restroom at a Monroe Township convenience store.

The wallet contained cash, stamps gift cards and the woman's permit to carry a concealed weapon.

The wallet was later found and returned with everything intact.

Two-vehicle crash

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports no one was injured in a 9:05 a.m. Oct. 15 two-vehicle crash along State Route 66 at Waterson Road in Clarion Township.

Mohamed Y. Mohamed Maideen, 24, Toledo, Ohio, operating a 2019 Ford Fiesta, allegedly turned right from Waterson Road onto State Route 66 and into the path of a northbound 2016 Peterbilt 389GL tractor-trailer operated by Jay C. Bonanni, 71, Volant, and the vehicles collided.

The Ford Fiesta rolled onto its side.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Mohamed Maideen was cited for a traffic law violation.

Vehicle hits deer

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Stephen Galmarini reports Jeffrey L. Wyant, 56, Rockton, escaped injury at 6:40 p.m. Oct. 14 along westbound Interstate 80 in Monroe Township when his 2014 GMC Terrain struck a deer on the roadway. Wyant was wearing a seat belt.

Marienville crash injures man

JENKS TWP. Tpr. Steve Ross of the state police barracks at Marienville reports Donald J. Meloney, 61, Marienville, suffered head, wrist and spinal injuries at 1:20 p.m. Oct. 13 along Cherry Street in Marienville, Jenks Township, Forest County, when he lost consciousness at the wheel of his 2007 Chevrolet Silverado truck and struck a utility pole, a crosswalk indicator and a tree.

Meloney was not wearing a seat belt. He was transported to Clarion Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
