Indecent assault

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Katherine Berggren reports an ongoing investigation of an alleged incident of indecent assault on a 7-year-odl Strattanville girl sometime between May 1 and Sept. 1, 2020, in Clarion Township.

Signs stolen

STRATTANVILLE Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports an ongoing investigation into the theft of two street signs sometime between March 10 and 11 along Virgin Alley in Strattanville. The signs read "Jackson Street" and "Main Street" and are valued at $150. The incident report was released April 6.

Burglary

PINEY TWP. Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports an ongoing investigation of a burglary sometime between Feb. 14 and March 7 along Huckleberry Ridge Road in Piney Township. The victims are a 50-year-old Clarion man and a 46-year-old Sligo woman. No further information was provided. The incident report was released April 6.

Two men cited

KNOX TWP. Tpr. Stephen Galmarini reports a 52-year-old Lucinda man and a 22-year-old Vowinckel man face charges of assault at 3:26 p.m. April 4 along Pine Lane in Knox Township after they allegedly were involved in a fist fight over a hot pan being placed on top of a cooler. The investigation is ongoing.

Two-vehicle crash

MADISON TWP. Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports one person was injured in a 4:01 p.m. April 2 two-vehicle crash along State Route 68 in Madison Township.

Caitlyn O. Buchanan, 18, Rimersburg, was turning left in her 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier as Kayti L. Reitler, 37, Sligo, operating a 2006 Suzuki Aerio, was passing two vehicles in the northbound lane.

Reitler's vehicle struck the Buchanan vehicle and then traveled into a grassy field.

Both vehicles were disabled in the crash.

Reitler and her passenger, Devon S. Thorpe, 38, Sligo, were wearing seat belts and were not injured.

Buchanan was wearing a seat belt and suffered unspecified injuries.

A 15-year-old Rimersburg girl in the Buchanan vehicle was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Reitler was cited for careless driving, improper passing and a vehicle registration violation.

Theft by deception

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports an ongoing investigation of a Jan. 28 incident in paint Township during which a 69-year-old Knox man sent $33 through a PayPal account for an online purchase. The merchandise was not delivered.

Crash injures two

RICHLAND TWP. Tpr. Todd Bingman of the state police barracks at Franklin reports two people were injured in a 3:28 a.m. April 6 one-vehicle crash along westbound Interstate 80 in Richland Township.

Juan C. Hinojosa, 42, Indianapolis, Ind., lost control of his 2010 Subaru Legacy, drove off the roadway, re-entered the roadway, traveled across both lanes of traffic and struck an embankment. The car then rolled onto its roof.

Hinojosa and his passenger, Deloris Romos, 27, West Orange, N.J., were wearing seat belts and suffered unspecified injuries.

Hinojosa was cited for a traffic law violation.

Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department and Emlenton Ambulance Service and Hovis Towing assisted at the scene.

Car hits guard post

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Robert S. Hageter Jr. reports no one was injured at 1:56 p.m. April 3 at the Jiffy convenience store along State Route 66 in paint Township when Caileigh M. Dayton, 26, Gates Mills, Ohio, turned her 2016 Infiniti QX80 sport-utility-vehicle left at the gas pumps and struck a protective pole with the left rear wheel of the vehicle.

The collision broke the rear axle of the SUV, disabling the vehicle.

Dayton and her two minor passengers were wearing seat belts.
