Vehicle hits buggy
ELK TWP. An Amish buggy and a vehicle collided at about 5:30 p.m. Jan. 14 along U.S. Route 322 near Fulton Road in Elk Township, Clarion County 9-1-1 confirmed.
A section of U.S. Route 322 was closed for several hours as a result of the crash.
Clarion state police, Shippenville/Elk Township volunteer firefighters and Knox Ambulance responded to the scene.
No other information was available Wednesday morning.
MONROE TWP. Tpr. Kevin Doverspike Jr. reports he responded to a report of a man walking along the berm of Interstate 80 near exit 62 at 3:08 p.m. Jan. 5 in Monroe Township.
The man was reportedly carrying a book bag and rifle case.
Doverspike reports he encountered Timothy Ryan Gerred Jr., 40, of Graham, N.C.
Gerred allegedly was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and an AK-47-style rifle.
Gerred was arrested and charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, an unclassified misdemeanor; and summary charges of public drunkenness and being an intoxicated pedestrian causing a public hazard.
No weapons-related charges were filed.
Gerred was arraigned by District Judge Jeff Miller and placed in the Clarion County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Nash Rupp of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a 29-year-old Marienville man faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance at 6:32 p.m. Jan. 13 along Sunny Road in Farmington Township after he was stopped for a traffic law violation.
Teens fight, mom punched
BEAVER TWP. Tpr. David McBride reports a 16-year-old male from the Knox area faces charges of assault at 5:41 p.m. Jan. 13 along State Route 338 in Beaver Township.
McBride was dispatched to a disturbance involving the suspect and another 16-year-old boy.
At the scene, McBride observed one of the boys had an injury to his leg allegedly caused by the other boy driving a mini-bike into him.
The boys allegedly began to fight. The mother of one of the boys attempted to stop the fight and was punched in the mouth, causing a split lip and a broken tooth.
Couple cited in Sligo altercation
SLIGO Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports a 37-year-old Sligo woman faces charges of simple assault and harassment and a 28-year-old Sligo man faces charges of harassment at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 13 along Bald Eagle Street in Sligo after they allegedly were involved in an altercation with each other.
Vehicle hits deer
CLARION TWP. Tpr. Joshua McGinnis reports William T. Kelly, 32, Clarion, escaped injury at 7:29 p.m. Jan. 12 along westbound Interstate 80 in Clarion Township when his 2016 Volkswagen Golf struck a deer on the roadway. Kelly was wearing a seat belt.
