Police update fatal crash report

REDBANK TWP. Tpr. Ryan Drayer reports two people died in a 9:03 p.m. Sept. 17 two-vehicle crash along State Route 28 at Shannondale Road in Redbank Township.

Deceased are Douglas P. Craig Jr., 36, New Bethlehem, and Sarah H. Stewart, 34, Strattanville.

Craig was operating a northbound 1999 Honda CBR6004X motorcycle with Stewart as his passenger.

Jhonatan A. Gonzalez De La Cruz, 29, Providence, R.I., was driving a northbound 2013 Toyota Corolla behind a vehicle that was traveling behind Craig's motorcycle.

Craig turned left onto Shannondale Road as Gonzalez De La Cruz attempted to pass the vehicle behind Craig's motorcycle.

The area is marked with a double yellow line.

Gonzalez De La Cruz's vehicle struck Craig's motorcycle. Both the car ad motorcycle came to uncontrolled stops.

Gonzalez De La Cruz was not wearing a seat belt and had to be extricated from his car. He was flown from the scene via medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries.

Craig and Stewart were not wearing helmets and were thrown from the motorcycle.

They were pronounced dead at the scene by Clarion County Coroner Daniel Shingledecker.

Gonzalez De La Cruz faces charges pending the outcome of the crash investigation.

Semi-truck and car collide

FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Ian Ostrowski of the state police barracks at Marienville reports Janet M. Huth, 79, Marienville, suffered unspecified injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 11:40 a.m. Sept. 20 along State Route 66 at Haggerty Drive in Farmington Township.

Huth, operating a 2010 Toyota Corolla, allegedly entered onto State Route 66 from Haggerty Drive and into the path of a 2018 Kenworth tractor-trailer operated by Kenneth A, Foster, 52, Hinsdale, N.Y., and the vehicles collided.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Foster was not injured.

Huth was cited for a traffic law violation.

Hit and run vehicle strikes Amish buggy

WASHINGTON TWP. -- Tpr. Ian Ostrowski of the state police barracks at Marienville reports an unknown driver of a red Ford F-150 truck struck an Amish buggy at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 21 along State Route 157 at the intersection with Old Fryburg Road in Washington Township.

The driver of the truck fled from the scene in the vehicle. The truck would have damage to the front passenger side and is missing the passenger side mirror.

The occupants of the buggy were injured.

Camper vandalized

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Joshua McGinnis reports someone spray-painted profanity on the rear of a camper owned by a 40-year-old Clarion man sometime between Sept. 19 and 20 along South Second Avenue in Monroe Township.

Two area women threatened by gun

REDBANK TWP. Tpr. Rice of the state police barracks at Kittanning reports a 33-year-old Mayport man faces charges of assault at 4:04 p.m. Sept. 21 along Punxy Road in Redbank Township, Armstrong County, after he allegedly pointed a shotgun at a 52-year-old Mayport woman and a 48-year-old Sligo woman during a domestic incident.

Two cited

KNOX BOROUGH Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports a 43-year-old Lamartine woman and a 36-year-old Knox woman face charges of assault at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16 along Best Avenue in Knox Borough after they allegedly were involved in an incident involving a 44-year-old Knox man.

Both of the charged woman are also listed as victims in the case.

No further information was released.

Teen assaulted

SALEM TWP. -- Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports a 44-year-old Knox man faces charges of assault at 7:53 p.m. Sept. 16 along Community Road in Salem Township after he allegedly assaulted an 18-year-old Lamartine man. The investigation is ongoing.
