Rape investigation

CRANBERRY TWP. State police at Franklin report an ongoing investigation of an alleged rape of a now 16-year-old Leeper girl in December of 2019 in Cranberry Township, Venango County. The suspect is a known male.

Interlock violation

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Joshua McGinnis reports a 30-year-old Sigel man faces various charges after he was determined to be driving a vehicle with an interlocking ignition system as required by a court sentence at 11:15 p.m. Sept. 24 along Greenville Pike in Clarion Township.

Woman allegedly throws bottles

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Tate Allison reports a 27-year-old Clarion woman faces charges of disorderly conduct at 10:18 a.m. Oct. 8 along Perkins Road in Monroe Township after she allegedly threw two Canada Dry bottles at a vehicle owned by a 43-year-old Parker woman and threatened the victim with physical harm.

Crash injures two

ROCKLAND TWP. Tpr. Justin Marvin of the state police barracks at Franklin reports two Clarion residents were injured in a 3:35 p.m. Oct. 6 three-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 322 and State Route 38 I Rockland Township, Venango County.

Gary A. Landers, 71, Cambridge Springs, was turning his 2011 Toyota Sienna left from U.S. Route 322 onto State Route 38 and in doing so turned in front of an eastbound 2007 Chrysler Towns and Country minivan operated by Andrea M. Cooper, 35, Clarion.

Cooper attempted to take evasive action to avoid Landers' vehicle but struck the Toyota, causing it to rotate clockwise and strike a 2011 Toyota Camry, stopped at the State Route 38 stop sign and operated by Philip A. Seger Jr., 48, Spencer, Ohio.

All drivers and their passengers were wearing safety restraints.

Cooper and a 10-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries.

Landers was cited for a traffic law violation.

Community Ambulance, Rockland Volunteer Fire Department, Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, Mark's Auto of Clarion and Minich Towing assisted at the scene.

Harassment alleged

KNOX BOROUGH Tpr. Brian Tanner reports a 51-year-old Knox woman faces charges of harassment at 11:54 a.m. Oct. 3 along Railroad Street in Knox Borough after she was involved in an altercation with a 29-year-old Knox man.

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports an ongoing investigation of allegedly harassment at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 7 along Fraternity Drive in Clarion Township. The suspect is a 20-year-old Clarion man. The victim is a 16-year-old Clarion girl.

Driver injured

ELK TWP. Tpr. Sean Floor reports Lemonta Burns, 82, Clarion, suffered unspecified injuries at 1:50 p.m. Oct. 5 along U.S. Route 322 near Black Road in Elk Township when she lost control of her 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe and struck a guide rail.

Burns was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Clarion Hospital. She was cited for a traffic law violation.

The vehicle was disabled and towed from the scene.

Unemployment scam

KNOX BOROUGH Tpr. Michael Stutsman reports a 47-year-old Knox woman reported an unknown suspect claimed unemployment benefits in her name Oct. 5 in Knox Borough. The investigation is ongoing.

STRATTANVILLE - A woman accused of stealing more than $70,000 from the Strattanville Volunteer Fire Department was sentenced Oct. 6 in Clarion County Court to serve seven years on probation.

CLARION - A Clarion County jury Sept. 24 convicted Floyd Harry Watson, 45, Knox, on 111 charges relating to the rape of a girl over a six-year period.

ELK TWP. -- Pamela J. Raybuck, 66, Kossuth, Sept. 15 pleaded guilty to one count of reckless driving resulting in death, a summary offense, and has paid a fine and court costs totaling $610.

LOWER BURRELL - A member of the Clarion-Limestone School Board faces an Oct. 19 preliminary hearing on charges he was driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:27 a.m. Aug. 21 in the City of Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County.

CLARION - The former tenant of a Clarion apartment building Aug. 25 entered a guilty plea to aggravated arson, risking bodily injury, a first-degree felony, in Clarion County plea and sentence court.
