Death investigation

HOWE TWP. Tpr. Shawn Nicewonger of the state police barracks at Marienville reports the death of a 71-year-old Ridgway man sometime between Aug. 5 and 6 at a camp along Bean Farm Road in Howe Township, Forest County, has been determined to be non-suspicious. The Forest County coroner ruled the man died of natural causes.

Serious injuries in ATV crash

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Jesse Kochara reports an adult male crashed his all-terrain-vehicle at 4 p.m. Aug. 4 along Curll Road in Monroe Township. The man was flown via medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries.

DUI, drug possession, illegal concealed weapon

FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Zachery Weaver of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a 54-year-old Pittsburgh man faces numerous charges after a 3 a.m. Aug. 11 traffic stop along state routes 36 and 66 in Farmington Township.

State police stopped the suspect and found the man to be allegedly under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance.

Police found a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle along with drug paraphernalia.

The search also allegedly turned up a loaded firearm which belonged to the suspect, but for which he did not possess a valid license to carry a concealed weapon.

The suspect was arrested, arraigned and placed in the Clarion County Jail. The suspect posted bail and was released to await further court action.

Bingo cash stolen

STRATTANVILLE Tpr. Jesse Kochara reports someone entered the American Legion building in Strattanville around 3:30 p.m. Aug. 6 as patrons also were entering the building to play Bing.

The suspect walked up to an locked cash register in the middle of the main hallway and stole approximately $1,200 in cash primarily in $20 bills.

DUI alleged

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports a 30-year-old Marble man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol at 10:39 p.m. Aug. 8 along southbound South Fifth Avenue in Clarion Township.

The suspect, operating a 2003 Ford Explorer, drove off the roadway just past Family Psychological and struck several mailboxes, road signs and a utility pole.

The SUV then crossed the road and struck a building.

The suspect allegedly showed signs of impairment from drugs and/or alcohol.

The police report did not indicate if the suspect was injured in the crash.

Drug possession

LICKING TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports police responded to a domestic violence incident at 1:10 p.m. June 14 along Linneman Road in Licking Township.

While on the scene, police allegedly observed suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia on the porch of the residence.

Police allegedly found white powder in a plastic bag located in a black zipper wallet.

The report on the incident was released Aug. 9.

Crash injures Rimersburg woman

TOBY TWP. Tpr. Tate Allison reports one person was injured in a two-vehicle crash along Cherry Run Road in Toby Township.

Carla J. Billotte, 18, Rimersburg, operating a westbound 2006 Toyota Sienna, was attempting to negotiate a right turn in the roadway and struck an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Melissa D. Goodman, 50, Rimersburg.

Both drivers and their juvenile passengers were wearing seat belts.

Goodman suffered a suspected serious injury.

Billotte was not injured.

Boat batteries stolen

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports someone took three boat batteries with a total value of $300 sometime between 11 p.m. July 27 and 10 a.m. July 28 along Millcreek Road in Clarion Township.

The victims are a 77-year-old Sligo man, a 59-year-old Strattanville man and a 36-year-old Brookville man.

Criminal mischief

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports an ongoing investigation of alleged criminal mischief at 11:44 p.m. Aug. 2 at Dennis Trailer Court in Clarion Township. The victim is a 55-year-old Clarion woman. No other information was released.

Tech items stolen, plants killed

MADISON TWP. Tpr. Nicholas Gray reports someone entered a home sometime between June 15 and July 26 along Lobaugh Hill Road in Madison Township and took a camera and a laptop computer.

The suspect(s) also killed five flower and four pumpkin plants.

The computer and camera are valued at $200.

The flowers and pumpkins are valued at $91.

Crash injures two

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Ryan Drayer reports two people were injured in an 11:51 a.m. Aug. 6 two-vehicle crash along U.S. Route 322 near Woodland Drive in Paint Township.

Paula M. Blum, 42, Strattanville, slowed her 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 truck for traffic in front of her and was struck from behind by a 2006 Subaru Outback operated by Alex S. Hohman, 18, Brookville.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and suffered unspecified injuries.

Hohman was cited for a traffic law violation.

Knox Area Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.

Two-vehicle crash

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Ryan Drayer reports no one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:10 p.m. Aug. 6 along State Route 66 near Zacherl Lane in Paint Township.

William R. Miller, 72, Smethport, operating a 2013 Chrysler 200, allegedly made a left turn in front of a 2010 Ford Ranger operated by Thomas P. Harvey, 71, Tylersburg, and the vehicles collided.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Miller was cited for a traffic law violation.
