Indecent assault report unfounded
KNOX Tpr. Joshua Bauer reports an alleged indecent assault involving two juveniles Feb. 6 in Knox was investigated and proved to be unfounded.
CLARION TWP. Tpr. Kyle Freeman reports an ongoing investigation of a Feb. 4 evening incident along South Fifth Avenue in Clarion Township during which a 25-year-old Clarion man was assaulted by a known suspect with a blunt object.
ELK TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports a 37-year-old Knox woman faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or controlled substances at 3:50 a.m. Feb. 9 along Bus Mong Road in Elk Township after she allegedly crashed her vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
CLARION BOROUGH Tpr. Nicholas Gray reports a known suspect faces charges of DUI at 2:05 a.m. Feb. 8 along South Street at Sixth Avenue in Clarion Borough after the suspect was stopped for a traffic law violation. The investigation is ongoing.
MONROE TWP. Tpr. Timothy Reilly reports an ongoing investigation of a theft, sometime between 7:23 and 8:20 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Clarion mall. The victim is a 60-year-old Williamsport man. No further information was released.
CLARION TWP. Tpr Evan Cyphert reports an ongoing investigation of an allegedly forgery incident involving a 92-year-old Clarion woman as the victim. The incident occurred Jan. 23 along Stoney Lonesome Road in Clarion Township. The incident was reported to police Feb. 3.
Theft by deception
KNOX AREA Tpr. Timothy Reilly reports an ongoing investigation of an incident of identity theft sometime between Feb. 2 and 6. The victim is a 49-year-old Knox woman. The incident resulted in the recovery of a Mac Book Pro. No further information was released.
CLARION TWP. Tpr. Tate Allison reports a 30-year-old Clarion man reported his smartphone was stolen sometime between 8 p.m. Feb. 1 and 6 a.m. Feb. 2 at Club Blue in Clarion Township.
LIMESTONE TWP. Tpr. Joshua McGinnis reports a 52-year-old Clarion woman reported an attempt scam via mail at 4 p.m. Jan. 18 along Stahlman Road in Limestone Township.
The letter allegedly attempted to get the woman to pay an outstanding balance that does not exist.
RICHLAND TWP. Tpr. Ryan Drayer reports Sharon Curry, 64, Chicago, Ill., escaped injury at 9:14 a.m. Feb. 7 along eastbound Interstate 80 in Richland Township when she lost control of her 2018 Chevrolet Impala and twice struck roadside guiderails.
Curry was wearing a seat belt. She was cited for a traffic law violation.
Teen crashes car
FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Eric Lauer reports a 16-year-old Tiona female driver escaped injury at 3:44 p.m. Feb. 9 along State Route 66 in Farmington Township when she lost control of her 2003 Subaru Forester and struck an embankment.
Her 16-year-old Clarendon female passenger suffered suspected minor injuries.
Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts. The driver was cited for a traffic law violation.
CLARION TWP. Tpr. Nicholas Gray reports Jose Echavarria-Diaz, 26, The Bronx, N.Y., suffered suspected minor injuries at 9:19 p.m. Feb. 9 along westbound Interstate 80 in Clarion Township when he lost control of his 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer rig and struck an embankment.
The rig was disabled and slid back onto the roadway.
Echavarria-Diaz was wearing a seat belt and was cited for a traffic law violation.
Clarion Hospital EMS, Clarion Fire and Hose Co. No. 1 and Rustler Towing assisted at the scene.
Clarion man hurt in I-79 crash
LANCASTER TWP. -- A Clarion man was injured in a one-vehicle crash Feb. 8 in Lancaster Township, Butler County.
Butler state police said Alex Peace, 23, was driving north on Interstate 79 at about 7:30 a.m. when he fell asleep, sending his vehicle off the west side of the roadway.
Peace then began to barrel roll and travel down the embankment until the vehicle came to a stop while on its roof, police said. Peace was transported to UPMC Presbyterian by Harmony EMS.
Police were assisted on the scene by Harmony Fire Department.
