Fatal crash

REDBANK TWP. Tpr. Ryan M. Drayer reports two people were killed in a 9:03 p.m. Sept. 17 two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 28 and Shannondale Road in Redbank Township.

Two vehicles were northbound along State Route 28 when the number two vehicle made a left turn onto Shannondale Road. Unit one struck unit two while attempting to pass another vehicle.

The operator and passenger of unit two were pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information was released.

Indecent assault

JENKS TWP. Tpr. Kathleen Watters of the state police barracks at Marienville reports an ongoing investigation of an alleged sexual assault of a 34-year-old male victim at an unspecified time between Sept. 6 and 14 at the state correctional facility in Jenks Township, Forest County.

Credit fraud

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports a 74-year-old Sligo man reported a fraudulent credit card purchase was made at 6:02 p.m. Sept. 4 at Walmart in Monroe Township using his credit card. The purchase total was $972. The investigation is ongoing.

Prisoner threatens court officials

JENKS TWP. Tpr. Kathleen Watters of the state police barracks at Marienville reports an ongoing investigation of alleged threats made via letters sent through the mail against court officials in Pittsburgh, Erie and Smethport at an unspecified time between Sept. 6 and 15 at the state correctional facility in Jenks Township, Forest County.

Knox man involved in Butler crash

WINFIELD TWP. Tpr. Tyler Dubovi of the state police barracks at Butler reports Alan J. Hook, 52, Knox, escaped injury in a 9:48 a.m. Sept. 10 two-vehicle crash along State Route 356 in Winfield Township, Butler County.

Hook, operating a southbound 2010 International truck allegedly failed to stop at a red light and entered into the intersection and struck a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country mini-van operated by Emylie A. Jonczak, 31, Freeport.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and an infant passenger in the Jonczak vehicle was in a safety seat.

Jonczak suffered suspected serious injuries. The report is not clear on injuries to the infant.

The mini-van was disabled in the crash.

Hook was cited for a traffic law violation.

Unemployment scam reported

PORTER TWP. Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports a 58-year-old New Bethlehem man reported an unknown suspect claimed unemployment benefits in his name Sept. 14 in Porter Township Sept 9. The investigation is ongoing.

DUI checkpoint

CLARION State police at Clarion report a Sept 11 DUI checkpoint in Clarion County resulted 31 traffic stops as a result of vehicle code violations. From those stops three DUI arrests were made. In total, 20 traffic citations were issued with 16 of those related to the DUI arrests.

One citation was issued for driving with a suspended license and 24 written warnings were also issued.

STRATTANVILLE - A woman accused of stealing more than $70,000 from the Strattanville Volunteer Fire Department was sentenced Oct. 6 in Clarion County Court to serve seven years on probation.

CLARION - A Clarion County jury Sept. 24 convicted Floyd Harry Watson, 45, Knox, on 111 charges relating to the rape of a girl over a six-year period.

ELK TWP. -- Pamela J. Raybuck, 66, Kossuth, Sept. 15 pleaded guilty to one count of reckless driving resulting in death, a summary offense, and has paid a fine and court costs totaling $610.

LOWER BURRELL - A member of the Clarion-Limestone School Board faces an Oct. 19 preliminary hearing on charges he was driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:27 a.m. Aug. 21 in the City of Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County.
