FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Jacob Snyder of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a known suspect faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol at noon April 7 along State Route 66 near Blood Road in Farmington Township after the suspect was stopped for a traffic law violation.
Crash injures five
PAINT TWP. Tpr. Kyle Freeman reports five people were injured in a 1:48 p.m. April 6 two vehicle crash along Paint Boulevard at Doe Run Road in Paint Township.
Kayla E. Macurak, 21, Spring Church, stopped her eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Trax to turn left and was struck from behind by a 1997 Jeep Wrangler operated by Benjamin J. Spence, 40, Clarion.
Spence was wearing a seat belt and suffered suspected serious injuries. He was transported to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of his injuries. He was cited for a traffic law violation.
Macurak and her passengers, Jacquelyn M. Pables, 22, Philadelphia; Kayla C. Bosley, 22, Indiana, Pa.; and Grace J. Barry, 21, Shelocta, were all wearing seat belts and suffered suspected minor injuries.
Clarion Hospital EMS and Shippenville/Elk Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
SALEM TWP. Tpr. Patrick Berggren reports an ongoing investigation into unwanted messages sent to a 17-year-old Knox girl at various times between March 28 and April 8 in Salem Township.
PORTER TWP. Tpr. Tate Allison reports a 56-year-old Rimersburg woman faces charges of endangering the welfare of children and driving under the influence of a controlled substance at 11:48 a.m. April 10 along State Route 66 at Himes Road in Porter Township after she was stopped for a traffic violation with two children, both age 2, in the vehicle she was driving.
Two women cited
MADISON TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports a 48-year-old Rimersburg woman and a 25-year-old Sligo woman face charges of harassment at 9:12 p.m. March 27 at a Rimersburg-area club in Madison Township after they allegedly were involved in an altercation.
Crash injures two
PAINT TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports two people were injured in a 6:09 p.m. April 6 two-vehicle crash along U.S. Route 322 at its intersection with State Route 66 in Marianne in Paint Township.
Loriann Shapiro, 51, Knox, operating an eastbound 2007 Jeep Liberty along U.S. Route 322, allegedly failed to stop at a red light and proceeded into the intersection, striking a southbound 2013 Ford F-150 pick-up truck operated by Theodore J. Schwab, 57, Apollo.
Schwab and his passenger, Lisa Schwab, 51, Apollo, were wearing seat belts and suffered suspected minor injuries.
Shapiro was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. She was cited for a traffic law violation.
CLARION State police at Clarion will conduct a DUI checkpoint sometime within the next four weeks at one or more locations in Clarion County. The goal of the exercise is to remove impaired drivers from the roads.
Theft by deception
MADISON TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports a 22-year-old Rimersburg woman fell victim to a scam April 6 during which she lost four Target gift cards with a combined value of $2,000. The investigation is ongoing.
SUV hits fallen tree
RICHLAND TWP. Tpr. Nathan Hannah of the state police barracks at Franklin reports Kristopher F. Heeter, 27, Emlenton, escaped injury at 6:45 a.m. March 26 along Whitehall Road in Richland Township, Venango County, when he crested a hill in his 2003 Dodge Durango and struck a tree that had fallen onto the road.
Heeter was wearing a seat belt.
Deer causes crash
TOBY TWP. Tpr. Brain Tanner reports Ruth E, Devore, 71, East Brady, escaped injury at 1:32 p.m. March 21 along Henry Road in Toby Township when she swerved her 2018 Ford Edge to avoid a deer on the roadway.
The vehicle went off the road and struck a street sign and then rode up onto a guiderail.
Devore was wearing a seat belt. She was cited for a traffic law violation. The vehicle was disabled in the crash.
