All information contained in the following police reports is taken directly from official state police releases, unless otherwise noted.

Fatal crash

FAIRVIEW TWP. Tpr. William Nadolsky of the state police barracks at Butler reports a 70-year-old Rimersburg man died from his injuries following an 8:59 p.m. June 29 motorcycle crash along Chicora Road (State Route 68) in Fairview Township, Butler County.

Thomas E. Curry died as a result of his injuries July 6 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

According to police reports, Curry was northbound on his 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when a deer entered onto the highway.

Curry's motorcycle struck the deer and then rolled onto its left side, slid into the southbound lane and rolled onto its right side.

Curry was treated at the scene by Chicora Ambulance Service personnel before being flown via medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Curry was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The police incident report was released July 15.

Simple assault

ASHLAND TWP. Tpr. Leopold Cleveland reports a 33-year-old Oil City man faces charges of simple assault and harassment at 11:34 p.m. July 17 along Camp Coffman Road in Ashland Township after he allegedly struck a 32-year-old Titusville woman in the face and a 27-year-old Bradford man in the face.

Indecent assault

MADISON TWP. Tpr. Katherine Berggren reports an ongoing investigation of an alleged indecent assault(s) between Jan. 1 and June 1 in Madison Township. The victim is a 14-year-old male. The suspect is also a juvenile.

Drug overdose

TOBY TWP. Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports state police responded to a reported drug overdose involving a known individual at 7 a.m. July 14 along State Route 68 in Toby Township. The individual was transported to Clarion Hospital for treatment.

DUI alleged

LIMESTONE TWP. Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports a 43-year-old Sheffield man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:25 p.m. May 31 along Olean Trail after police investigated a reported domestic incident.

Drug possession

LICKING TWP. Tpr. Tate Allison reports a 54-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, both of Licking Township, faces charges of possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:33 p.m. July 16 along Linneman Road in Licking Township.

Park vandalism

TOBY TWP. Tpr. Patrick Berggren reports an unknown suspect drove across the baseball field at Cherry Run Camp sometime between July 7 and 12 along Cherry Run Road in Toby Township causing $500 in damage.

Retail theft

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Brian tanner reports a 40-year-old Petrolia woman faces charges of retail theft at 10:10 a.m. July 3 at Walmart in Monroe Township after she allegedly attempted to take $336 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for the items.

Cash and gun reported stolen

MADISON TWP. Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports someone broke into a camp along Friar Road sometime between May 9 and 30 in Madison Township and took a jar containing approximately $200 in coins and a .22-caliber rifle with a scope.

The victim is a 56-year-old Sarver man. Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact state police at 814-226-1710.

Trespasser

FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Jacob Snyder of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a known suspect allegedly trespassed on private property at 4 p.m. July 15 along Sherbrook Lane in Farmington Township. The victim did not pursue charges.

One-vehicle crash

FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Jacob Snyder of the state police barracks at Marienville reports Ethan T. Byers, 22, Clarion, crashed his 2010 Mazda 3 at 8:40 p.m. July 16 along Maple Drive in Farmington Township.

Byers allegedly left the scene of the crash. It is unknown if he was injured or if he was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Terroristic threats

ASHLAND TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports a 32-year-old Cranberry RD man faces charges ok making terroristic threats at 10 p.m. May 29 along U.S. Route 322 in Ashland Township after he allegedly threatening to harm a 40-year-old Cooperstown woman and a 42-year-old Andover, Ohio, man.

The incident report was released July 17.

Identity theft

REDBANK TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports a 47-year-old Mayport man reported being a victim of identity theft at 1:59 p.m. July 16 in Redbank Township.

HIGHLAND TWP. -- Tpr. Brian Tanner reports a 56-year-old Clarion man reported being a victim of identity theft at 2:19 p.m. July 16 in Highland Township.

KNOX TWP. Tpr. Patrick Berggren reports a 77-year-old Lucinda woman reported used her identity to steal $1,177 in Social Security payments in April.

Credit card fraud

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports a 49-year-old Clarion man reported his identity and credit card information was used July 10 to make unauthorized purchases via the Internet.

SALEM TWP. Tpr. Patrick Berggren reports a 41-year-iold Lamartine woman sent $700 in gift card payments May 1 to an online suspect who promised to send her a cat. The victim did not receive the cat.

Unemployment claim scams

PERRY TWP. Chandra Baughman reports a 72-year-old Parker woman reported an unknown suspect claimed unemployment benefits in her name July 14. The investigation is ongoing.

STRATTANVILLE Tpr. Katherine Berggren reports employees at Deb's Diner in Strattanville reported fraudulent unemployment claims were filed using their names July 4.
