lMichael Paul Crum, 40, Knox. Charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor; and disregarding a single traffic lane, careless driving, and reckless driving, all summary offenses, at 2:38 a.m. Jan. 18 in Shippenville Borough.

State police Tpr. John J. Dubovi was traveling west on U.S. Route 322 when he observed a vehicle in front of his patrol unit travel across the fog line several times. The vehicle traveled off of the right shoulder of the roadway, kicking up dust and rocks.

Upon approaching Shippenville Borough, Dubovi activated the patrol unit's emergency lights and siren. The vehicle continued traveling west before turned into the Shippenville/Elk Township Volunteer Fire Department parking lot.

According to the complaint, Crum allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol upon Dubovi's asking. An HGN eye test revealed signs of impairment. Upon exiting the vehicle, a strong odor of alcohol emanated from Crum's person and his eyes were glassy and bloodshot.

Crum did not perform field sobriety tests as instructed and demonstrated signs of impairment consistent with being under the influence of alcohol. A preliminary breathe test displayed Crum's blood alcohol content to be 0.114 percent.
