All information contained in the following police reports is taken directly from official state police releases, unless otherwise noted.

Fatal crash

JENKS TWP. Tpr. Kyle Lindey of the state police barracks at Marienville reports one person was killed in a 12:30 p.m. Sept. 12 three-vehicle crash along State Route 66 north of Marienville in Jenks Township, Forest County.

None of the names of the people involved in the crash were released. The investigation of the crash is ongoing.

According to the incident report, the crash occurred as unit one was traveling north along State Route 66 and struck northbound unit two in the left rear.

The impact caused unit one across the center line into the southbound lane of travel where unit one began to roll over.

Unit three was southbound along State Route 66 and was unable to avoid the out-of-control unit one and struck unit one in the passenger side.

Unit one rolled to stop in an upright position, facing east.

Unit three slid to a stop facing east, against unit one.

The driver of unit one was pronounced dead at the scene.

Marienville Volunteer Fire Department, Clarion Hospital EMS and Frank's Towing assisted at the scene.

The roadway was closed for several hours.

DUIs alleged

RICHLAND TWP. Tpr. Michael Stutsman reports a 55-year-old Emlenton man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol at 9:39 p.m. Sept. 4 along State Route 478 in Richland Township after the suspect crashed his 2017 Ford F-150 truck. The investigation is ongoing.

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Michael Stutsman reports a 50-year-old Knox man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol at 10:55 a.m. Sept. 5 along westbound Interstate 80 in Clarion Township after the suspect was stopped for a traffic law violation.

Inappropriate comments

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports a 29-year-old Shippenville man faces charges of disorderly conduct at 6 p.m. Aug. 23 along Perkins Road in Monroe Township after he allegedly directed inappropriate comments at a 20-year-old Oil City woman and a 17-year-old Clarion woman.

Vehicle vandalized

KNOX BOROUGH -- Tpr. Michael Stutsman reports someone damaged a 2012 Mazda 6 owned by a 29-year-old Knox woman sometime around 1:05 p.m. Sept. 5 along Main Street in Knox Borough. The investigation is ongoing.

‘Pickpocket-style' theft at Walmart

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Stephen Galmarini reports a 75-year-old Clarion man was approached by a woman approximately 45 to 55 years old and of Middle Eastern descent at 4:42 p.m. Sept. 2 in the Walmart parking lot in Monroe Township.

The woman requested gas money from the victim in exchange for several pieces of jewelry which turned out to be fake.

During the exchange, the woman allegedly removed a Rolex watch from the victim's wrist without his knowing it. The woman then fled in an unknown direction.

The investigation is ongoing.

Rock strikes car

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Kevin Doverspike Jr. reports an unknown male suspect threw a rock at vehicle operated by a 27-year-old Clarion woman at 6:47 p.m. Aug. 31 along U.S. Route 322 in Clarion Township. The rock struck the 2011 Kia Optima, causing $50 in damage.

Harassment alleged

PAINT TWP. -- Tpr. Michael Stutsman reports a 57-year-old Shippenville woman faces charges of harassment at 2:10 p.m. Sept. 5 along U.S. Route 322 in Paint Township after she was involved in an altercation with a 20-year-old Clarion woman.

Car hits embankment

LIMESTONE TWP. Tpr. Kevin Doverspike Jr. reports John F. Tibbs, 22, New Bethlehem, escaped injury at 5:48 a.m. Sept. 10 along State Route 66 in Limestone Township when he lost control of his 2016 Fiat 500 and struck an embankment.

Tibbs was wearing a seat belt. The car was disabled. Tibbs was cited for a traffic law violation.

Driver hits parked vehicle

MONROE TWP. -- Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports Jessica A. Slabaugh, 20, Sligo, escaped injury at 3:19 p.m. Sept. 3 along Tin Township Road in Monroe Township when she lost control of her 2009 Toyota Corolla, swerved into a gravel driveway, the traveled across both lanes of the road and struck a legally parked 2019 Dodge Ram truck.

Slabaugh was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. Slabaugh was cited for a traffic law violation.

Unemployment scams reported

PORTER TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports a 34-year-old Sligo woman reported an unknown suspect claimed unemployment benefits in her name Sept. 9. The investigation is ongoing.

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports a 48-year-old Clarion woman reported an unknown suspect claimed unemployment benefits in her name Aug. 30. The investigation is ongoing.

Burglary incident

FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Marini of the state police barracks at Marienville reports an ongoing investigation of a home burglary sometime prior to 2:54 p.m. Sept. 7 along Berlin Lane in Farmington Township. The owner of the home noticed damage to the rear door. The home had been unoccupied for several days.

Truck hits culvert

SLIGO Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports Matthew D. Young, 26, Shippenville, suffered suspected minor injuries at 3:57 p.m. Sept. 9 along Madison Street in Sligo Borough when he lost control of his 1999 Dodge Ram truck and struck a culvert.

Young was wearing a seat belt. He was cited for a traffic law violation.

Sligo Volunteer Fire Department, Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service and Mark's Auto Towing assisted at the scene.

Retail theft

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports a male suspect, wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a black hat took multiple items from the Walmart store at 5 p.m. Sept. 4 in Monroe Township. Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact state police at 814-226-1710.

Tools stolen

HIGHLAND TWP. Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports someone took a 14-feet long wooden ladder valued at $20 and a wheelbarrow valued at $10 from a property along McCleary Road sometime between Aug. 3 and Sept. 3 in Highland Township. The victim is a 77-year-old Kersey man.

Van hits deer

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports Andrew R. Hill, 32, New Castle, escaped injury at 1:42 a.m. Aug. 31 along State Route 66 in Paint Township when his 2017 Ford Econoline E-350 van struck a deer on the roadway. Hill was wearing a seat belt. The van was disabled.
