Attempted homicide

PORTER TWP. Tpr. Katherine Berggren reports a 48-year-old New Bethlehem man faces numerous charges, including attempted homicide, after he allegedly fired a gun in the direction of a 45-year-old South Fork woman and an 11-year-old girl, also from South Fork.

The complete list of charges against Tobias Wade Allen was not available at press time.

According to a state police report, the 45-year-old victim arrived at Allen's residence to pick up the 11-year-old female.

Allen allegedly became angry and began shouting at the woman. The woman and the girl attempted to leave the location in the woman's vehicle.

Allen allegedly discharged a firearm he was carrying in the direction of the vehicle, causing damage to the vehicle.

Allen allegedly barricaded himself in his residence which led to a Special Emergency Response Team call-out. Allen was taken into custody without further incident.

During the course of the investigation it was determined Allen is a person who is not allowed to possess firearms.

Allen was arraigned by District Judge Jeff Miller and placed in the Clarion County Jail.

Death investigation

WASHINGTON TWP. Tpr. Ian Ostrowski of the state police barracks at Marienville reports an investigation into the death of a 69-year-old Tionesta man found deceased in his home at 8:56 p.m. Oct. 7 along State Route 208 in Washington Township has been ruled a natural death.

No suspicious circumstances exist and the case is closed.

Indecent assault

REDBANK TWP. Tpr. Joshua Bauer reports an ongoing investigation into an alleged indecent assault sometime between Nov. 1, 2016, and Jan. 30, 2107, in Redbank Township during which a known 9-year-old male sexually assaulted a known 7-year-old male.

Child pornography investigation

MADISON TWP. Tpr. Rod Hotchkiss reports an ongoing investigation of alleged possession of child pornography 10:30 a.m. Oct. 16 in Madison Township.

State police executed a search warrant at the home of James Earl Arner, 71, Rimersburg, and Arner was taken into custody without incident. The victim in the case is a 15-year-old individual. The suspect was arrested, arraigned and placed in the Clarion County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash bail.

The suspect is not Clarion County Senior Judge James G. Arner and is not affiliated with judge.

Woman assaulted

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Stephen Galmarini reports a 43-year-old Clarion man faces charges of assault at 11:57 p.m. Oct. 15 along South Second Avenue in Monroe Township after he allegedly assaulted a 41-year-old Clarion woman. No further information was released.

DUI alleged

LIMESTONE TWP. Tpr. Michael Stutsman reports a 33-year-old Oil City woman faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol at 5:24 p.m. Oct. 3 along Olean Trail in Limestone Township after she crashed her 2010 Kia Optima.

Hunting gear stolen

MILLCREEK TWP. Tpr. Michael Stutsman reports an ongoing investigation into a 9:59 a.m. Oct. 12 incident along fair Haven Road in Millcreek Township during which two hunting bags were taken from the back of a pick-up truck.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately five-feet, eight-inches tall and driving a dark green Dodge Durango with a white or yellow patch or sticker on the right rear bumper.

The victims are two Strattanville men, ages 30 and 62.

Criminal mischief

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Sean Floor reports an ongoing investigation of alleged criminal mischief sometime between Oct. 1 and 6 along Robinwood Drive in Clarion Township. The victim is a 63-year-old Clarion woman. No further information was released.

Side-by-side rolls over, injures two

REDBANK TWP. Tpr. Leopold Cleveland reports two people were injured in a 4:22 p.m. Oct. 8 roll-over crash involving a 2014 Can-Am Commander side-by-side vehicle along Church Hill Road in Redbank Township.

Caitlin M. Travis, 29, New Bethlehem, lost control of the vehicle, drove off the roadway and struck a ditch. The vehicle continued forward and rolled over.

Travis was not wearing safety restraints. She suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to a Pittsburgh-area hospital treatment.

A 15-year-old male passenger was not wearing safety restraints. He suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to a Pittsburgh-area hospital treatment.

A 2-year-old male passenger was secured in a child safety seat. It is unknown if the child was injured.

The vehicle sustained minor damage. Travis was cited for a traffic law violation.

Unemployment claim scams

BEAVER TWP. Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports a 44-year-old Knox man reported an unknown suspect claimed unemployment benefits in his name Oct. 15 in Beaver Township. The investigation is ongoing.

SALEM TWP. -- Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports a 31-year-old Emlenton man reported an unknown suspect claimed unemployment benefits in his name Oct. 15 in Salem Township. The investigation is ongoing.

Vehicle hits deer

RICHLAND TWP. Tpr. John Dubovi reports Jesse W. Shawgo, 28, Knox, escaped injury at 1:39 a.m. Sept. 23 along State Route 338 in Richland Township when his 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander struck a deer on the roadway. Shawgo was wearing a seat belt.

Wire fraud

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Joshua Bauer reports an ongoing investigation into a Sept. 23 incident in paint Township during which an unidentified victim was scammed out of $22,000.

Animal abuse

SLIGO Tpr. Sean Floor reports he investigated a report of animal abuse at 7:37 a.m. Oct. 6 along Colerain Street in Sligo. No further information was released.

Identity theft

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Sean Floor reports an ongoing investigations of two cases if identity theft Oct. 15 in Paint Township. One victim is a 35-year-old Leeper man and the other is a 46-year-old Strattanville woman. It is not clear if the cases are related.

Burglary

JENKS TWP. -- Tpr. Ian Ostrowski of the state police barracks at Marienville reports an ongoing investigation into the apparent criminal trespass and burglary at the old Route 66 Diner along State Route 66 in Marienville, Jenks Township.

Someone apparently entered the building sometime between Oct. 6 and 9.
