Boy dunked

CLARION – Tpr. Joshua Bauer reports an ongoing investigation during which a 7-year-old New Bethlehem by was dunked in cold water by his father as punishment for wetting the bed.

The incident was reported to Clarion County Children and Youth Services which reported it to police.

The boy has been placed in foster care.

Man threatened with rifle

CLARION TWP. – Tpr Evan Cyphert reports a Strattanville man reported he was threatened by a man who pointed a rifle at him at 6:20 p.m. Aug. 26 along U.S. Route 322 in Clarion Township. The pointing the rifle allegedly told the victim to get off his property or he would shoot him. The investigation is ongoing.

Fugitive arrested

CLARION TWP. – Tpr. Tate Allison reports Paul Fotheringham, 38, Clarion, was taken into custody at 5:41 p.m. Sept. 1 along State Route 68 in Monroe Township following a traffic stop.

Fotheringham was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant in Armstrong County.

Crash injures three

BEAVER TWP. – Tpr. Nicholas Gray reports three people were injured in a 1:12 p.m. Sept. 2 two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 338 and Tippecanoe Road in Beaver Township.

Anna C. Lowrey, 23, Emlenton, stopped het 2014 Subaru Impreza at a stop sign along Tippecanoe Road.

Charles P. Yenick, 69, Renfrew, operating a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Silverado along State Route 338 was approaching the intersection when Lowrey allegedly pulled out in front Yenick’s truck.

The vehicles collided.

Lowrey and her passenger, Caroline R. Lowrey, 20, Emlenton, were wearing seat belts and suffered suspected minor injuries.

Yenick and his passenger, Cynthia L Yenick, 59, Renfrew, were also wearing seat belts. Charles Yenick suffered an unspecified injury and was transported to Clarion Hospital for treatment.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Lowrey was cited for a traffic law violation.

Clarion Hospital EMS, Knox Volunteer Fire Department and Frye’s Garage assisted at the scene.

Driver arrested

BEAVER TWP. – Tpr. Tate Allison reports a 57-year-old Emlenton man was taken into custody at 2:18 p.m. Aug. 30 along State Route 338 in beaver Township following a traffic stop.

The suspect was allegedly driving with fraudulent documents and driving with a suspended license. The license suspension is DUI-related.

Teens charged

ALLEGHENY TWP. – Tpr. Cody Spangler of the state police barracks at Butler reports two males, ages 15 and 16, of Silver, Pa., and Washington, D.C., respectively, face charges of assault at 11:11 p.m. Aug. 28 at Western Pennsylvania Child Care in Allegheny Township, Butler County (Interstate 80 Emlenton exit area) after they allegedly assaulted a 55-year-old Knox resident who works at the facility.

The suspects were moved to a secure detention facility in Ohio.

A door was damaged during the incident. Damage is estimated at $800.

Car hits deer

CLARION TWP. – Tpr. Jesse Kochara reports Sumit Kumar, 33, Waukesha, Wis., and his passenger, Jayanti Roy, 32, Waukesha, Wis., escaped injury at 6:24 a.m. Aug. 31 along eastbound Interstate 80 in Clarion Township when their 2018 Chevrolet Cruze struck a deer on the roadway. The crash caused the vehicle’s airbags to deploy.

DUI checkpoint

CLARION – State police at Clarion conducted a DUI checkpoint Aug. 31 in Clarion County.

Fifth vehicles were checked. One DUI arrest was made; eight traffic citation were issued and 17 warnings were issued.
