DUIs alleged

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Kevin Doverspike reports one person was injured at 10:06 p.m. Oct. 1 along Kiser Wagner Road in Paint Township when a Polaris RZR 900 UTV struck a deer on the roadway.

The UTV struck the deer, then a mailbox and an embankment before rolling over multiple times.

Both occupants of the UTV were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the UTV, a 44-year-old Shippenville man, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. He was not injured.

The passenger, William C. Liston, 52, Clarion, suffered suspected minor injuries.

Rustlers Towing assisted at the scene.

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports a 30-year-old Astoria, N.Y., man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance at 4:24 p.m. Aug. 16 along eastbound Interstate 80 in Clarion Township after he was stopped for a traffic law violation.

iPad found

WASHINGTON TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports an iPad was found around 9:30 a.m. Oct. 1 along State Route 208 near St. Michael Church in Fryburg, Washington Township.

The owner of the iPad should call state police at 814-226-1710 to claim the item.

Lost firearm

REDBANK TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports an ongoing investigation into a lost firearm at Longshot Firearms around 11:06 a.m. Aug. 18 in Redbank Township. The firearm is a FN P90. No further information was released. The incident report was released Oct. 2.

Drug possession

KNOX TWP. Tpr. Ian Ostrowski of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a 20-year-old Leeper man faces charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at 9:17 p.m. Oct. 2 along Licking Drive in Knox Township after he was found sitting in his pick-up truck. The investigation is ongoing.

Laundry machine damaged

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Kevin Doverspike Jr. reports a 53-year-old Shippenville man faces charges after he allegedly vandalized a Silver Fall Coin Drop machine at 11 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Shippenville 24-hour Laundro-Mat in Paint Township.

The suspect's attempts to steal the money inside the machine were unsuccessful. Damage is estimated at $50.

Internet fraud

FARMINGTON TWP. Tpr. Brandon Collett of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a 60-year-old Leeper man fell victim to Internet fraud Sept. 27 when he received an email purporting he was charged for a purchase he did not make.

Through further actions by the victim, an unknown suspect transferred $1,604 from the victim's bank account to another fraudulent bank account.

The investigation is ongoing.

SALEM TWP. Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports a 56-year-old Emlenton man was scammed out of a $200 Google Paly gift card at 6:48 p.m. Oct. 1 along State Route 208 in Salem Township. The investigation is ongoing.

Rear-end collision

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Sean Floor report no one was injured in a 6:40 a.m. Sept. 30 two-vehicle crash along Greenville Pike in Clarion Township.

Brandon Brinkley-Jones, 27, Franklin, stopped his 2007 Mack truck to make a turn and was struck from behind by a 2022 Subaru Outback operated by Raymond A. Peltcs, 89, Clarion.

Peltcs was cited for a traffic law violation.

Truck hits sign

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports Brenton D. Rhoades, 32, Clarion, escaped injury at 10:53 p.m. Sept.19 along Greenville Pike when he lost control of his 2020 Chevrolet Silverado truck and struck a road sign. Police allege Rhoades drove away from the scene. The incident report was released Oct. 3.

Criminal mischief

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Kevin Doverspike Jr. reports a 22-year-old Hanover man faces charges of criminal mischief at times between 11 p.m. Aug. 27 and 4 a.m. Aug. 28 at the Motel 6 in Monroe Township after he allegedly threw a rock through a wing door and another rock through a window of the building.

Total damage is estimated at $2,474.

ELK TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports an incident of criminal mischief at 5:56 p.m. Aug. 18 along Highland Drive in Elk Township. The victim is a 52-year-old Shippenville man. No further information was released. The incident report was released Oct. 3.

Two-vehicle crash

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Sean Floor reports one person was injured in a 12:57 p.m. Sept. 28 two-vehicle crash along State Route 68 at Perkins Road in Monroe Township.

Melborne C. Canby, 90, Shippenville, operating a 2019 Honda Accord, allegedly failed to stop at a red light and turned left from State Route 68 into Perkins Road.

In doing so, he turned into the path of s southbound 2016 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Angelina J. Pierotti, 20, Parker, and the vehicles collided.

Canby suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to Clarion Hospital via ambulance.

Pierotti was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Both vehicles were disabled.

Canby was cited for a traffic law violation.

STRATTANVILLE - A woman accused of stealing more than $70,000 from the Strattanville Volunteer Fire Department was sentenced Oct. 6 in Clarion County Court to serve seven years on probation.

CLARION - A Clarion County jury Sept. 24 convicted Floyd Harry Watson, 45, Knox, on 111 charges relating to the rape of a girl over a six-year period.

ELK TWP. -- Pamela J. Raybuck, 66, Kossuth, Sept. 15 pleaded guilty to one count of reckless driving resulting in death, a summary offense, and has paid a fine and court costs totaling $610.

LOWER BURRELL - A member of the Clarion-Limestone School Board faces an Oct. 19 preliminary hearing on charges he was driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:27 a.m. Aug. 21 in the City of Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County.
