Rape investigation

CLARION TWP. -- Tpr. Joshua Bauer reports an ongoing investigation into an alleged rape sometime between Dec. 1, 2012 and Jan. 1, 2013, in Clarion Township. No further information released.

A-C Valley school lock-down reported

FOXBURG State police at Clarion report the station received a call of a possible threat made toward Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School Dec. 19, 2019, in Foxburg.

The school district was notified and the school was placed on "lock-down."

A known juvenile was located and the lock-down was lifted. The investigation is ongoing and no further information was released.

Indecent exposure

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Joshua Bauer reports an ongoing investigation into an alleged incident of indecent exposure at 7 a.m. Dec. 13, 2019, along Greenville Pike in Clarion Township. The incident was reported by Clarion County Children and Youth Services. The victim is a 4-year-old female.

The state police press release about the incident was released Jan. 6.

Illegal recording

MADISON TWP. Tpr. Joshua Bauer reports an ongoing investigation into alleged illegal recording of two female social workers at various times between Dec. 2, 2019, and Jan. 3 at a Lobaugh Hill residence in Madison Township.

DUIs alleged

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Nicholas Gray reports a 57-year-old Rimersburg woman faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance at 5:18 p.m. Dec. 23, 2019, along Hospital Drive in Monroe Township after she was stopped for alleged erratic driving.

STRATTANVILLE Tpr. Jacob Knight reports a 55-year-old Strattanville man faces charges of DUI at 12:22 a.m. Dec. 8, 2019, along Ridge Avenue in Strattanville after he was stopped for a traffic law violation.

RIMERSBURG Tpr. Patrick Berggren reports a 34-year-old Rimersburg man faces charges of DUI at 1:04 a.m. Oct. 26, 2019, along State Route 68 in Rimersburg, after being stopped for a traffic law violation.

Megan's Law violation alleged

ELK TWP. Tpr. Joshua Bauer reports an ongoing investigation into an alleged failure to register as required by Megan's Law incident sometime between Dec. 2 and 11, 2019, in Elk Township. No further information was released. The state police press release about the incident was released Jan. 6.

Business burglary

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Patrick S. Berggren reports an unknown person entered an unidentified business sometime between Dec. 17 and 18, 2019, along South Fifth Avenue in Clarion Township and took unspecified property.

Unfounded allegation made

KNOX TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports state police were notified by Clarion County Children and Youth Services Dec. 23, 2019, of a report of possible endangerment of the welfare of a child Dec. 18, 2019, in Knox Township. Upon investigation, police determined the allegation was unfounded.

Theft reported

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports an ongoing investigation of an alleged theft at 3:40 p.m. Jan. 2 at Walmart in Monroe Township involving an 88-year-old female victim. No further information was released.

Harassment alleged

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports a 35-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, both of Clarion, face charges of harassment at 7:09 p.m. Dec. 22, 2019, along South Fifth Avenue in Clarion Township after they allegedly were involved in an altercation with each other.

One of the suspects was allegedly wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant was taken into custody.

Vehicles collide at intersection

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Kevin Doverspike Jr. reports no one was injured in a 6:07 p.m. Dec. 27, 2019, two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Paint Boulevard and Amsler Road in Paint Township.

Rhoda J. Reinford, 27, New Bethlehem, operating a southbound 2011 Toyota Camry along Paint Boulevard, struck the rear of a 1996 Toyota 4-Runner operated by Ruben D. Gillenwater, 45, Pleasantville, who had stopped for traffic in front of his vehicle.

Both drivers and Gillenwater's passengers were wearing seat belts.

Reinford was cited for a traffic law violation.

Attempted fraud

SLIGO Tpr. David McBride reports a 29-year-old Sligo woman reported an unknown person attempted to purchase checks through Bradford Exchange Checks Nov. 12, 2019, using the Sligo woman's personal information along with her deactivated account information.

The unknown suspect was unsuccessful in obtaining the checks.

Truck tailgate waxed

HIGHLAND TWP. Tpr. Nicolas Gray reports a 57-year-old Clarion woman reported someone used car wax to write a derogatory message on the tailgate of her 2019 Dodge truck sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. Dec. 27, 2019, along Les Lane in Highland Township.

Possible DUI

CLARION TWP. Tpr. David McBride reports no one was injured in a 6:41 p.m. Dec. 25, 2019, two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Pioneer Road and U.S. Route 322 in Clarion Township.

Police report Steven Luta, no age or address provided, allegedly turned his vehicle onto Pioneer Road and struck a vehicle stopped at a stop sign operated by Teresa McBride, no age or address provided.

McBride told police Luta exited his vehicle and seemed impaired. Lutz allegedly looked at the crashed vehicles and said, "I don't have time for this" and left the scene.

Police report Lutz was arrested at his home shortly after the crash and faces charges of DUI.

Two vehicles collide in Marianne

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Jacob Knight reports no one was injured in a 12:28 p.m. Jan. 1 two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 322 and State Route 66 in Marianne, Paint Township.

Christopher C. Myers, 39, Shippenville, operating a 2006 Ford F-150 truck, allegedly failed to stop at a red light and drove into the intersection where his truck was struck by a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Jason A. Cochran, 40, New Castle.

Myers, Cochran and Cochran's four passengers were all wearing seat belts.

Myers was cited for a traffic law violation.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Shippenville-Elk Township Volunteer Fire Department, Clarion Hospital EMS and MC Auto assisted at the scene.

Liquor law violations alleged

PUNXSUTAWNEY The state Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reports three Clarion County establishments have been citing for allegedly violating state liquor laws.

According to press releases issued by the BLCE, employees of The University Inn in Clarion allegedly sold alcohol to minors Oct. 4, 2019, and a citation was issued to the owner of the business on Dec. 13, 2019.

Also, employees of The Tavern in Clarion allegedly sold alcohol to minors Oct. 4, 2019, and a citation was issued to the owner of the business on Dec. 9, 2019.

Also, employees of The St. Cloud Hotel in East Brady allegedly sold alcohol for consumption off premises July 27, 2019, and a citation was issued to the owner of the business on Dec. 9, 2019.

The charges against the three defendants will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from a $50 to $1,000 fine for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.

In addition, the administrative law judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charges brought.

Theft by deception

LIMESTONE TWP. Tpr. David McBride reports a 51-year-old Summerville-area man reports an unknown person completed an application at an unknown Best Buy store Dec. 14, 2019, to add another service line to the victim's Verizon cellular telephone service plan.

By completing the application, the suspect was able to purchase an iPhone and an Apple watch.

The Verizon Fraud Department will be contacted to obtain the suspect's information.

Light post damaged

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports someone damaged a light post at the home of a 59-year-old Shippenville woman sometime between Dec. 27 and 28, 2019, along Pine Terrace Road in paint Township. Damage is estimated at $60.

Car hits embankment, driver injured

PORTER TWP. Tpr. David McBride reports Mary K. Sczerba, 22, Glassport, suffered minor injuries at 11:54 p.m. Jan. 2 along State Route 861 in Porter Township when she lost control of her 2004 Mazda and struck an embankment. Sczerba was wearing a seat belt. She was cited for a traffic law violation.

Cars crash in Strattanville

STRATTANVILLE Tpr. Jacob Beers reports no one was injured in a 4:18 p.m. Dec. 31, 2019, two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Virgin Alley and Jackson Street in Strattanville.

David L. Lang, 42, Strattanville, allegedly failed to stop his 2009 Honda Civic at a stop sign and entered into the intersection, hitting a 016 Buick Encore operated by Joyce A. Radaker, 47, Fairmount City.

Radaker and her passenger were wearing seat belts.

Lang was wearing a seat belt but his passenger, a 43-year-old Strattanville woman, was not wearing a seat belt.

Lang was cited for a traffic law violation.

Drug possession

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Kyle Freeman reports two known individuals face charges of possession of controlled substances at 7:20 p.m. Jan. 3 at Clarion Hospital in Monroe Township after they allegedly went to the emergency room for of unspecified reasons and hospital found them in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Vehicles hit poles

PERRY TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports no one was injured in a 2:48 p.m. Dec. 18, 2019, one-vehicle crash along Lime Plant Road in Perry Township.

Kristi A. Swyers, 28, Parker, lost control of her 2014 Jeep Compass on the slippery road and struck a utility pole.

Swyers and her passenger, Megan E. Guntrum, 27, Clarion, were wearing seat belts.

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Jesse Kochara reports Emma E. Pfeiffer, 28, Oberlin, Ohio, escaped injury at 2:37 p.m. Dec. 31, 2019, along State Route 68 in Monroe Township when she lost control of her 2011 Nissan Rogue on an icy patch of roadway and struck a utility pole.

Pfeiffer was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was disabled.

Two-vehicle crash

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Timothy Reilly reports one person was injured in a 3:08 p.m. Dec. 8, 2019, two-vehicle crash along Hospital Drive in Monroe Township.

Amanda M. Corle, 30, Rimersburg, allegedly failed to negotiate a left turn in her 2014 Honda Civic and struck a 2017 Jeep Renegade operated by Lori L. Reynolds, 55, Summerville.

Corle allegedly was not properly wearing a seat belt and suffered unspecified injuries.

Reynolds was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. Corle was cited for a traffic law violation.

Car hits tree

BEAVER TWP. T[r. Jacob Beers reports Frances A. Matthews, 69, Knox, escaped injury at 6:16 p.m. Dec. 31, 2019, along State Route 338 near Kribbs Road in Beaver Township when she lost control of her 2012 Ford Taurus on the slippery rad and struck a tree. Matthews was wearing a seat belt.

Crash injures two

LIMESTONE TWP. Tpr. Ryan Wilson reports two people were injured in a 4:46 p.m. Jan. 1 two-vehicle crash along State Route 66 at Spruce Road in Limestone Township.

Rachael L. Louder, 23, Clarion, operating a 2003 Toyota Camry, allegedly drove from Spruce Road into the path of a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van operated by Michael Hurrelbrink, 27, Knox, and the vehicles collided.

Louder and Hurrelbrink's passenger, Samantha L. Korona, 32, Knox, suffered unspecified injuries and were transported to Clarion Hospital for treatment.

All were wearing seat belts. Louder was cited for a traffic law violation.

Retail theft

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Jesse Kochara reports a 23-year-old Clarion-area woman faces charges of retail theft at 4:50 p.m. Dec. 23, 2019, at Walmart in Monroe Township after she allegedly attempted to take merchandise valued at $90 from the store. The merchandise was recovered.

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports a 50-year-old Shippenville woman faces charges of retail theft at 4:25 p.m. Dec. 24, 2019, at Walmart in Monroe Township after she allegedly attempted to take merchandise from the store.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene but was arrested following a traffic stop.

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports a 49-year-old Clarion woman faces charges of retail theft at 12:04 p.m. Jan. 5 at Walmart in Monroe Township after she allegedly attempted to take merchandise from the store.

I-80 bridge crash

RICHLAND TWP. Tpr. Jacob Knight reports Ruvelina V. Mendoza, 34, San Antonio, Texas, escaped injury at 12:26 a.m. Jan. 5 along westbound Interstate 80 on the Emlenton Bridge over the Allegheny River in Richland Township when she lost control of her 2006 Nissan Armada and crashed into the bridge rails.

The bridge was icy at the time of the crash. Mendoza was wearing a seat belt. Mendoza was cited for driving without a license.

Driver injured

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Kyle Freeman reports Audrey E. Over, 32, New Bethlehem, suffered a suspected minor injury at 5:16 p.m. Dec. 31, 2019, along Stone House Road in Clarion Township when she lost control of her 2005 Toyota Rav4 and struck a tree. Over was not wearing a seat belt.

Police indicate the crash might be alcohol-related.

Car hits guiderail

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports Adam P. Dachowicz, 26, Albrightsville, escaped injury at 2:54 p.m. Dec. 31, 2019, along westbound Interstate 80 in Clarion Township when he lost control of his 2012 Mazda 3 and struck roadside guiderails. Dachowicz was wearing a seat belt. He was cited for a traffic law violation.

Vehicle hits deer

RICHLAND TWP. Tpr. Ethan Rowe reports Michael A. Difeo, 33, Clarks Summit, escaped injury at 4:53 p.m. Dec. 28, 2019, along eastbound Interstate 80 in Richland Township when his 2012 Jeep Patriot struck a deer on the roadway. Difeo was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was disabled.
