Drug possession

PAINT TWP. Tpr. David McBride reports a 23-year-old Shippenville woman and a 34-year-old Pittsburgh man face charges of drug possession at 5:23 p.m. Feb. 13 along Paint Boulevard in Paint Township after the male was stopped for failure to use a turn signal and a burned out center brake light.

Both individuals were searched by police after a routine check determined both were wanted on outstanding arrest warrants.

CLARION BOROUGH Tpr. John Dubovi reports an 18-year-old Clarion man faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1:33 a.m. Feb. 15 along Heidrick Street and Greenville Avenue in Clarion Borough after being stopped for a traffic law violation.

Theft in Sligo

SLIGO Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports an ongoing investigation of alleged theft of merchandise valued at $2,400 from a Front Street business sometime Feb. 9 in Sligo.

The victim is a 30-year-old Sligo man. No further information was released.

Driver injured in Porter Township

PORTER TWP. Tpr. John Dubovi reports Colten W. Mohney, 21, New Bethlehem, suffered suspected serious injuries at 4:38 a.m. Feb. 15 along St. Charles Road in Porter Township when he lost control of his 2011 Chevrolet Malibu and struck a tree.

Mohney was not wearing a seat belt. He was cited for a traffic law violation.

Two-vehicle crash

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports no one was injured in a 9:34 p.m. Feb. 13 two-vehicle crash along Paint Boulevard at Greencrest Drive in Paint Township.

Colin P. Grable, 23, Clarion, operating a 2004 Toyota Solara, and Joseph A. Burns, 57, Shippenville, operating a 2015 Volkswagen Passat, collided.

Both drivers and Burns' 15-year-old female passenger were wearing seat belts. Detail of the crash were not released.

Grable was cited for a traffic law violation.

Criminal mischief

BEAVER TWP. Tpr. Jacob Knight reports an unknown suspect struck and damaged a flag pole and garage door belonging to an 86-year-old Knox-area woman sometime between Feb. 6 and 10 along State Route 208 in beaver Township. Total damage is estimated at $500.

Theft investigations at Walmart

MONROE TWP. Tpr. David McBride reports an ongoing investigation of reported theft by a 19-year-old female Walmart employee from Clarion at various times between Jan. 12 through Feb. 14.

The investigation found the suspect's 25-year-old boyfriend from Clarion also allegedly took items from the store on Jan. 19.

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports an ongoing investigation of alleged retail theft at 4:52 a.m. Jan. 31 at Walmart. The suspect was identified and charges are pending. No further information was released.

I-80 crash injures family of seven

CLARION TWP. Tpr. Ryan Wilson reports seven people were injured in a 5:01 p.m. Feb. 16 one-vehicle crash along westbound Interstate 8o just west of State Route 66 in Clarion Township.

Hadassah Rokowsky, 35, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, operating a 2019 Honda Odyssey, drove off the roadway and struck a ditch, a tree and another ditch. The vehicle rolled onto its side.

Rokowsky and her adult passenger, Moshe Rokowsky, 37, same address, and five children ranging in age from less than 1 to 12, all were wearing safety restraints.

All suffered suspected minor injuries.

Clarion Hospital EMS and Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
