Assault investigation ongoing

SHIPPENVILLE – Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports an ongoing investigation into an alleged 3 p.m. March 23 assault along Third Street in Shippenville.

No further information was released.

Two cited in hospital parking lot

MONROE TWP. – Tpr. Chandra Baughman reports a 35-year-old Clarion woman and a 39-year-old Newark, N.J. woman face charges of disorderly conduct at 1:30 p.m. March 24 in the Clarion Hospital parking lot in Monroe Township after they allegedly were involved in a verbal altercation with each other.

Head-on crash injures driver

ASHLAND TWP. – Tpr. Nicholas Gray reports one person was injured in a 3:49 a.m. March 23 two-vehicle crash along U.S. Route 322 near Weaver Pond Lane in Ashland Township.

Wilbur Lewis, 78, Knox, operating a westbound 2006 Toyota Sienna, allegedly crossed the center line and struck head-on an eastbound 2008 Chevrolet Aveo operated by Timothy J. Bechtel, 36, Emlenton.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Neither driver was transported for treatment but police report Bechtel suffered a possible injury.

Lewis was cited for a traffic law violation.

Indecent assault

MONROE TWP. – Tpr. Joshua Bauer reports an ongoing investigation into an alleged indecent assault of a 14-year-old Trafford girl around 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Clarion Psychiatric Center in Monroe Township. The suspect is a female juvenile.

Knox man scammed

ASHLAND TWP. – Tpr. Ethan Rowe reports a 48-year-old Knox man reported he provided his debit/credit card information to an unidentified suspect at 3 p.m. March 27 from his Ashland Township home and was scammed out of $1,000.

The investigation is ongoing.

Hit and run

KNOX TWP. – Tpr. Dylan Jarrett reports an unknown driver of an unknown vehicle lost control of that vehicle around 10 p.m. March 25 along Fairview Drive in Knox Township and struck a fence near a bridge.

The suspect removed the vehicle by unknown means and fled from the scene.
