All information contained in the following police reports is taken directly from official state police releases, unless otherwise noted.
Crash closes State Route 66
PAINT TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports an ongoing investigation of a 2:48 a.m. April 3 one-vehicle crash along State Route 66 near the Paint Township Municipal Building in Paint Township.
The driver of a 2002 Chevrolet 1500 pick-up truck apparently drove off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The crash necessitated the replacement of the utility pole which in turn kept a portion of the roadway closed for more than 12 hours.
The incident report indicated the crash was alcohol-use related. The report lists a 20-year-old Coudersport man, a 20-year-old Huntington man and a 19-year-old Coudersport man all as individuals facing charges in the incident, however, the report does not indicated which man was driving the vehicle or if anyone was injured in the crash.
As of the deadline for this edition of the newspaper, no charges had yet been filed.
CLARION TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports a 37-year-old Baltimore, Md., man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and multiple traffic law violation citations at 11:59 p.m. March 23 along westbound Interstate 80 in Clarion Township after the suspect was allegedly involved in a hit and run incident.
REDBANK TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports a 21-year-old Clearfield man faces charges of harassment at 4:16 a.m. April 2 along State Route 28 in Redbank Township after he allegedly punched a 28-year-old Mayport man in the face.
PAINT TWP. Tpr. Brian Tanner reports an ongoing investigation of a 7:34 p.m. Feb. 10 incident along Whisner Road in paint Township during which a 55-inch smart television was stolen from a residence owned by a 31-year-old New Alexandria woman. The incident report was released March 31.
CLARION TWP. Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports no one was injured in an 8:59 p.m. March 23 two-vehicle crash along Greenville Pike in Clarion Township.
Isabel C. Mills, 51, Tionesta, was backing her 2008 Volvo XC90 SUV into a driveway from the eastbound lane of the highway and was struck by a 2006 Ford F-250 Super Cab truck operated by Tiffany L. Bundy, 27, Clarion.
Both drivers were cited for traffic law violations.
Car hits pole
MONROE TWP. Tpr. John Dubovi reports Amanda J. Toth, 33, Bruin, escaped injury at 3:21 a.m. March 27 along State Route 68 near Pennsy Road in Monroe Township when she lost control of her 2014 Ford Mustang and struck a utility pole. Toth was wearing a seat belt. She was cited for a traffic law violation.
Bar sign damaged
WASHINGTON TWP. Tpr. Nash Rupp of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a 60-year-old Tionesta man faces charges of summary criminal mischief at 10:13 p.m. April 2 at the Washington House in Fryburg after he damaged a sign and frame regarding service to visibly-intoxicated patrons. Damage is estimated at $40.
SUV rolls over
REDBANK TWP. Tpr. Jacob Beers reports Blake S. Harris, 30, Williams, Ariz., suffered suspected minor injuries at 12:55 p.m. March 31 along State Route 28 in Redbank Township when he lost control of his 2020 Kia Sorento and struck a stump and a mailbox.
The vehicle then rolled onto its driver's side, slid 20 yards and rolled back onto its wheels.
Harris was wearing a seat belt. He was cited for a traffic law violation.
Hit and run driver damages 3 vehicles
MONROE TWP. Tpr. Stephanie Graham reports Thomas J. Amato, 36, Summerville, operating a 2015 Hyundai Veloster, backed out of a parking spot at 7:11 p.m. March 19 at the Clarion Mall in Monroe Township and struck a parked 2018 Hyundai Elantra, the struck a parked 2019 Honda HRV which was pushed into a parked 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 truck.
The three parked vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the crashes.
Amato alleged left the scene before police arrived. He was cited for a traffic law violation.
PORTER TWP. Tpr. Leopold Cleveland reports Shayla L. Gazzo, 21, Rimersburg, and her 2-year-old female passenger suffered suspected minor injuries at 5:46 p.m. March 26 along State Route 861 in Porter Township when she lost control of her Hyundai XG when driving at "speeds greater than prudent."
Gazzo was allegedly straddling the center line and encountered a vehicle coming in the opposite direction.
Gazzo veered off the road, over an embankment, struck a fence and came to a stop in a field. Gazzo and her passenger were wearing safety restraints. Gazzo was cited for a traffic law violation.
