lJoel Lee Best Jr., 29, Clarion.

Charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of burglary, both first-degree felonies; criminal trespass as a second-degree felony; corruption of minors, a first-degree misdemeanor; three counts each of simple assault and reckless endangerment of another person, both second-degree misdemeanors; three counts of harassment, and one count each of criminal mischief, illegal use of air rifles, bows and arrows or similar devices and public drunkenness at 7:52 p.m. May 19 in Clarion Borough.

Police responded to a report of a man firing a BB gun at an apartment along Elss Street. The man also allegedly threateningly displayed a knife to a male victim at the location.

Best had allegedly fled from the scene by the time police arrived.

Witnesses at the apartment showed police a large rock Best allegedly threw against the building

Police also observed an open can of an alcohol-based drink witnesses said belonged to best.

Best allegedly arrived at the apartment intoxicated and offered pills a known female. Best allegedly became threatening when instructed to leave the property.

Best allegedly attempted to stab a male victim and then left the scene only to return with the BB gun. Best allegedly shot at the building several times and shot a male victim in the arm.

Best allegedly threatened to kill several of the witnesses.

Police went to Best's nearby home where they encountered Best with a cell phone, a container of medication and a cigarette lighter.

The medication was identified as Gabapentin, a prescription nerve pain medication.

Best allegedly told police the BB gun and knife were in his home and allowed police to seize the items.

The knife was not found.

Best allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.

Best's girlfriend said Best had been drinking alcohol.
