Stolen electric bike recovered

STRATTANVILLE Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports a 16-year-old Strattanville male allegedly purchased a stolen Razor electric dirt bike sometime between July 11 and 18.

The juvenile claims he did not know the bike was stolen. He faces charges of receiving stolen property.

The bike is worth $50. The victim is a 58-year-old Strattanville woman.

Vehicle hits bale of hay in Lucinda

KNOX TWP. Tpr. Nicholas Gray reports no one was injured in a12:35 p.m. Aug. 3 incident at the intersection of Lawn Drive and State Route 66 in Lucinda.

Nicholas E. Ochs, 26, Lucinda, operating a 2017 Ford F-250 Supercab truck towing a trailer with a load of large roll bales of hay, turned onto State Route 66 from Lawn Drive. When he did so, a bale of hay fell from the trailer, landing in the southbound lane where it was struck by a 2014 GMC Terrain operated by Daniel L. Ferringer, 31, Lucinda.

Both drivers and all passengers were wearing seat belts.

Ochs was cited for a traffic law violation.

Public drunkenness

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports a 26-year-old Chicago, Ill., man faces charges of public drunkenness at 10 p.m. Aug. 5 in the Clarion Mall parking lot.

Police were summoned after a caller reported a suspicious man in an Xfinity van.

Upon arrival the man was identified and it was discovered he had blocked a known individual from leaving in her vehicle because the suspect believed it was his vehicle.

The suspect allegedly demanded to see the title to the vehicle.

The suspect was driven back to his hotel and subsequently cited for public drunkenness.

Ties slashed

KNOX Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports someone slashed four tires on a vehicle owned by a 39-year-old Knox man sometime between 1 and 8 a.m. July 28 along Main Street in Knox. Damage is estimated at $240.

Two-vehicle crash

PINEY TWP. Tpr. Nicholas Gray reports no one was injured in a 4:29 p.m. July 31 two-vehicle crash along State Route 66 in Piney Township.

Daniel L. Yates, 59, Sligo, stopped his northbound 2010 Ford F-150 to turn left onto McEwen Road when he was struck from behind by a 2013 Toyota Prius operated by Donald R. Finefrock, 66, Sligo.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Finefrock was cited for a traffic law violation.

DUI alleged

WASHINGTON TWP. Tpr. Nash Rupp of the state police barracks at Marienville reports a 63-year-old Tionesta man faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol at 9:28 p.m. July 31 along Washington Church Road in Washington Township after he was stopped for a traffic law violation.

Car hits deer

PAINT TWP. Tpr. Evan Cyphert reports Mikayla A. Bowen, 22, and her passenger, Tabitha R. Bowen, 23, both of Leeper, escaped injury at 9:57 p.m. July 30 along State Route 66 in Paint Township when their 2006 Buick Lacrosse struck a deer on the roadway. The vehicle was disabled. Both women were wearing seat belts.

Vehicle vandalized

KNOX TWP. Tpr. Nicholas Gray reports a known suspect allegedly vandalized a vehicle owned by a 75-year-old Lucinda man at 7 p.m. July 27 along Lawn Drive in Knox Township.

The suspect was located and agreed to pay for the damage. No charges will be filed.

Retail theft

MONROE TWP. Tpr. Jesse Kochara reports a known suspect faces charges of retail theft at 5:30 a.m. July 23 at Walmart in Monroe Township after the suspect allegedly attempted to take $25 worth of merchandise from the store.

Upcoming DUI checkpoint

CLARION COUNTY State police at Clarion report troopers will conduct a DUI checkpoint within the next four weeks somewhere within the barrack's jurisdiction.
