Marilyn and David Barris mark 40th anniversary
KNOX David and Marilyn Barris of Knox will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Monday, June 14, 2021.
David Barris and the former Marilyn Bradley were married June 14, 1981, at Rouseville United Methodist Church in Rouseville by Rev. Jamie Potter.
Mrs. Barris is the daughter of Joyce and Larry Cooley of Rantoul, Ill. and Delmar Bradley of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Barris is the son of Will and Jean Barris of Knox.
Mr. Barris is retired from U.S. Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base in California in 2002 after 20 years of service to his country. Following retirement from the service, he began working on F-16, F-22 and F-35 programs as a senior maintenance trainer at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas.
He then went to work as an employee of Bell Helicopter where he was a technical trainer specialist. Upon moving to Pennsylvania in 2014, he did a short stint with the USPS before being hired by NT Concepts as a training specialist in Boyers. His final move was to the Carley Corporation where he works from home as an instructional designer still today.
He enjoys fishing, gambling and remodeling.
Mrs. Barris is a former Air Force wife of 20 years as well as a former Registered Nurse with Baylor All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
Her hobbies include turning trash into treasure, remodeling, crafting, painting, Internet sleuthing and spending time with their beautiful daughter, Heather.
The couple has one child, Heather Barris of Knox.
They are both members of the Knox Rod and Gun Club of Clarion County, the American Legion Post 720 in Knox and the Republican Party.
The couple will celebrate this special occasion with family.
