Alexis Marie Burns of Clarion and Matthew Adam Kurtas of Pittsburgh are proud to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
Burns is the daughter of Scott and Angelia Burns (Cherico) of Clarion and Kurtas is the son of Michael Kurtas, Jr. of Old Bridge, New Jersey and Randi Kurtas (Kwasnik) of Lancaster.
The bride-to-be is the 2012 salutatorian of Clarion Area High School and a 2016 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh school of business. She is employed as a regional vice-president with the Burns and Burns Insurance Agency.
The future groom is the 2011 valedictorian of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and a 2014 graduate of the Cornell School of hotel administration. He is employed as the general manager of a privately owned club in Sewickley.
Carina Burns, sister of the bride, will serve as maid of honor and Michael Kurtas, Jr., father of the groom, will serve as best man.
The happy couple will wed and celebrate on Oct. 5 at Oakmont Country Club before friends and family, as Burns' parents did celebrate in the same venue 30 years ago.
The future Mr. and Mrs. Kurtas will honeymoon at the Red Rocks in Sedona, Arizona. They will reside in Shippenville.
