Bauers celebrate 60th anniversary
Norbert and Marie Bauer of Marble will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary May 28, 2020. They were married May 28, 1960, at St. Michael Church in Fryburg by Msgr. Francis Theobald.
The Bauers have three children, Terry Bauer of Shippenville; the late Ruthie Bruce and son-in-law Dean Bruce; and Connie Carroll and her husband Dan of Fombell.
They also have seven grandchildren: Jared Bruce and his wife Ashley of Cincinnati, Ohio; Mitchell Carroll and his wife Lisa of Lacey, Wash.; Joey Bruce of Marble; Olivia Bauer of Titusville; Courtney Carroll of Pittsburgh; Jenna Bruce of Pittsburgh; and Laryssa Bauer of Shippenville.
The Bauers are members of St. Michael Church in Fryburg and have resided in Marble all of their married lives.
Norb served four years in the U.S. Air Force after graduation from North Clarion High School. He retired from Astro Manufacturing in 1996 after 23 years of employment there. He also retired from barbering in 2014 after owning and operating his own shop in Marble for 54 years.
Marie graduated from North Clarion High School and then worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Highways until she married Norb.
Norb enjoys playing cards, doing yard work and his children and grandchildren. Marie enjoys quilting, scrapbooking, singing in the church choir and spending time with her family.
A family party will be celebrated by the couple and their children and grandchildren at a later date.
