KITTANNING The Armstrong County Commissioners have designated a new tourism promotion agency, namely, Experience Armstrong Inc. doing business as Armstrong County Tourism.

Armstrong County Tourism is the new tourism promotion agency that will be replacing the old Armstrong County Tourist Bureau governed by the county.

Armstrong County Tourism will be located at 125 Market Street, Suite 2 in downtown Kittanning.

With a new tourist promotion agency, Armstrong County will be more adept to handle the tourism industry and the incoming traffic to our local businesses.

Experience Armstrong has named Michael Bruno the new director of First Impressions. As the director of First Impressions, there is a long to do list and 2021 will be a year of upgrades, improvements, and overhauling an old business model.

Experience Armstrong will play a macro role in the local tourism market.

Bruno who has been working in the tourism industry for years will become the new director as of Dec. 16. Bruno owns and operates Workhorse Transport and Outfitters a bike and kayak rental shuttle service.

Bruno has a great personality and much experience that will help make connections and grow the tourism market from the ground up. With a unique approach on tourism marketing, Bruno hopes to increase the total amount of tax revenue collected from overnight stays and invest that tax revenue back into the local economy.

Armstrong County has an abundance of tourism resources at its disposal. Armstrong County has beautiful rails to trails system, elegant waterways, untapped wilderness, a plethora of local history dating back to the pre-civil war era, and many bed and breakfasts that are exactly what the traveler wants.

Tourism is Pennsylvania's number one industry and Experience Armstrong will tap into that growing market to make the lives and businesses of Armstrong County better than before.
