L and R Santa identified?

In our Dec. 22 edition, Sharron Stroup Martin of Clarion shared the above photos and wrote: “My grandfather, Norman Rea, owned the L&R store in Clarion and I have these photos from back in the early 1950s. The photo on the left is me with the L&R Santa in 1950 when I was 18 months old. The photo on the left is me with the L&R Santa in 1952 when I was three and a half years old.” This week, Mrs. Martin added, “My husband, Rich, saw Carol and Bruce Kiser when he was walking and they asked about the L&R Santa. I asked my cousin, Billy Rea and he got back to me with the following information: ‘Jake Black was the Santa. He was a painter who was a good customer at the L&R. He was Santa from 1948 to 1960. Henry Murphy took over for years after that. Both were really good’” The CLARION NEWS thanks Mrs. Martin and everyone who helped identify this L&R Santa from the past.
