Brian Mullen (in the cab) and his brother Barry took advantage of the sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures Monday to harvest the remaining corn in fields outside Lamartine in Salem Township. Mullen said the dry summer reduced the yield this year for Dick Mar Farms, where he has worked for more than 20 years. But the end of the day, the brothers had harvested more than 2,000 bushels of corn.

FOXBURG -- There has been much debate in the A-C Valley School Board in regard to a band cooperative agreement between the A-C Valley and Union School Districts but the debate finally came to conclusion at A-C Valley's board meeting Dec. 1.

SHIPPENVILLE -- A tax raise was mentioned as a possible solution to ease the Shippenville Borough's financial woes but in the end, borough council voted against a tax raise for 2023.

FOXBURG -- Cooperative agreements between the Allegheny-Clarion Valley and Union School districts have been a reality when it comes to sports but for some members of the A-C Valley School Board, entering into a marching band co-op is just a bit too far.

CLARION -- The Clarion County Planning Commission Nov. 16 gave its tentative approval to a preliminary land-use application for Glidepath Ventures to construct a solar power farm in Licking Township.

FRILLS CORNERS - When the Shippenville/Elk Ambulance Service announced it was ceasing operations at the end of January 2023, it left a number of municipalities without an ambulance service, including Washington Township.

BUTLER Butler Health System, which includes Clarion Hospital, and Westmoreland County-based Excela Health announced they have entered into a definitive agreement to combine the two organizations into a new health system.

KNOX -- Following a similar donation to the Knox Ambulance Company last month, Knox Borough Council again tapped its American Rescue Plan grant fund to donate $20,000 to the Knox Volunteer Fire Department.

STRATTANVILLE -- A Strattanville couple voiced their concerns to borough council this month over the way they believe they were portrayed in a neighbor's complaint in September.

STRATTANVILLE - Strattanville Borough Council agreed this month to seek approximately $17,000 in county aid for 2023, with the money to be used for various street repairs.

FOXBURG -- Even though there are plenty of volunteer opportunities for A-C Valley students to fulfill their graduation requirements, district administrators are worried students aren't taking advantage of those opportunities.
