MONROE TWP. - Putting life back into the Clarion Mall, "Family Farm & Home" opened its doors to the public Oct. 14, headed up by store manager Bobbi Wood, a Clarion-Limestone High School graduate and an eight-year Army veteran.
According to its website, Family Farm & Home is "a full line agricultural store dedicated to providing exceptional service, products, and prices focused on fulfilling the lifestyle needs of our customers."
The decision to locate a store in the Clarion area was based on several factors.
"Family Farm & Home's retail development team continues to review opportunities in or near
rural communities where FFH's vast product assortments and services would be a significant
value to the community," explained Abby DeYoung, FFH marketing and advertising manager. "The Clarion location was selected due to close proximity and visibility to the main highway, rural landscape and favorable lease agreement with the building landlord."
The new Family Farm and Home store is in the former J.C. Penney location.
"All working initiatives came together smoothly, and the Clarion Family Farm and Home team is
excited to be open," said DeYoung.
FFH announced several weeks ago that Wood would be the store manager.
Wood is native to the Clarion area, living in the community for the majority of her life. As a C-L graduate and Armey veteran, she served a tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After her service to the country, she
returned to her roots back in Clarion, to raise her daughter near family and friends.
"Bobbi's love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing, paired with her extensive knowledge from living the rural lifestyle and working in the farm retail industry, make her the perfect family member to open this new location for Family Farm & Home," said DeYoung. "Bobbi Wood and her staff of nearly two dozen team members are ready and eager to serve the Clarion community for all of their lifestyle needs to live, work and grow."
Not new to Western Pennsylvania
Family Farm & Home is new to Clarion, but not new to Western Pennsylvania.
"In summer 2018, Family Farm & Home opened its first store in Pennsylvania (Meadville), expanding its footprint east," said DeYoung. "This successful store opening in a new state allowed for future
consideration and growth initiatives in Pennsylvania.
"The opening of the Clarion FFH will mark
the second location in the state, and the 67th location overall for the midwest farm retailer."
DeYoung said Family Farm & Home's retail development team will continue to actively seek and pursue other location opportunities throughout Pennsylvania.
"Family Farm & Home is committed to being each community's trusted resource, just down the road and looks forward to providing exceptional, superior customer service to Clarion," said DeYoung. "Family Farm & Home's mission is to treat customers like family and to help them work smarter
and faster by providing the best quality products and expert advice to get the job done, at prices
that make sense."
Core departments at Family Farm & Home include feed and accessories for pets (on-site pet groomer coming soon), horses and livestock, as well as farming supplies.
The chain also offers products for home heating, lawn and garden, hardware, automotive, work clothing, footwear, and more.
DeYoung said Family Farm & Home's focus on superior customer service, through in-depth product knowledge and training, paired with extensive and competitively priced assortments, make FFH the ideal one-stop stop for trip consolidation.
Staffed, stocked and ready to go
"While all industries are facing challenges in regard to staffing, merchandise availability and delays, Family Farm & Home is committed to going the extra mile to ensure their communities and customers experience superior customer service and honest communication," said DeYoung. "The level of commitment, from ownership to leadership to local store family members, resound loudly in a steadfast drive to serve customers for all of their family, their farm and their home needs.
