Area senior centers activities

KNOX Activities and menus for the month of November for the Knox, Leeper and New Bethlehem Senior Centers have been set and are listed below.

Meal reservations for the Knox and Leeper centers should be made a day in advance by calling 221-7869 or 226-4640. Lunch for the New Bethlehem center should be made by Friday morning by calling 221-7869 or 226-4640.

lKnox Senior Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays in the Knox fire hall. There menu and schedule is:

Nov. 8: Wellness Fall Expo at Zion Church in Reidsburg.

Nov. 12: 10:30 a.m., social hour; 11 a.m., WRC Senior Services visits. Lunch is open face hot turkey sandwich, whipped potatoes with gravy, mixed vegetables, white bread and applesauce.

Nov. 19: 11 a.m., Clarview Rehabilitation leads exercise; 11:30 a.m., Country Springs plays Jingo. Lunch is chicken taco with cilantro lime crme sauce and lettuce, seasoned corn and black beans, seasoned rice soft tortilla shell and fresh fruit.

Nov. 26: 10:45 a.m., Visiting Nurses Association checks blood pressure; 11 a.m., bingo. Lunch is mushroom cheeseburger, creamy potato soup, hamburger roll, crackers and fresh fruit.

lLeeper Senior Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and is located in the Farmington fire hall in Leeper. There activities and menu for November are:

Nov. 13: Card; 9:30-10:30 a.m., Visiting Nurses Association checks blood pressure; 11 a.m., memory. Lunch is smoky barbecue burger with cheddar, barbecue sauce and crisp onions, creamy cauliflower soup, sandwich roll, and fresh seasonal fruit.

Nov. 20: Cards; 11 a.m., turkey craft. Lunch is roasted turkey with gravy, homemade stuffing, whipped potatoes, coleslaw, pumpkin dessert and cranberry sauce.

Nov. 27: Cards; 11 a.m., WRC Senior Services visits. Lunch is Swedish meatballs over pasta, peas, wheat bread and mixed fruit salad.

lNew Bethlehem Senior Center is open from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Mondays and is located in the Redbank Valley Community Center. Their activities and menus for November are:

Nov. 8: 10 a.m., Fall Wellness Expo at Zion Church.

Nov. 11: Center closed due to Veterans Day.

Nov. 18: 10 a.m., nickel bingo and Visiting Nurses Association checks blood pressure; 11 a.m., Head Start kids visit for story, craft and a snack. Lunch is baked porcupine ball with tomato sauce, garlic whipped potatoes, carrots, dinner roll and cookie.

Nov. 25: 10 a.m., nickel bingo; 11 a.m., WRC Edgewood Heights visits. Lunch is mango barbecue chicken breast, brown rice, coleslaw, wheat bread and warm apple cranberry crisp.
