‘Bearly’ successful hunt

It was the first year the VFD hosted the weight station. Local residents stopped by to see the bears about nine bears had been brought by 11:30 a.m. and to enjoy food, beverages, raffles and some neighborly visiting. Yost’s bear weighed in at 141 pounds and Carroll’s bear weighed in at 104 pounds. The bears were taken in Knox Township. More than 50 bears were brought to the weigh station Nov. 20 with 16 of those taken in Clarion County.

EMLENTON - The board of directors of Emclaire Financial Corporation, the parent holding company of the Farmers National Bank of Emlenton, declared a quarterly cash dividend on Nov. 17, of $0.30 per common share payable on Dec. 17, to shareholders of record on Dec. 1.
