Local ‘Barnwood Builders' episode airs Sunday

CLARION An episode of "Barnwood Builders," filmed earlier this summer in the Brookville and Corsica area is set to air at 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18 on the DIY Network.

Greta Sawyer, co-owner of Sawyers Nursery and Landscaping said she was recently contacted by the show's producers and notified of the airing.

According to the show's website, "Barnwood Builders follows five fun-loving West Virginians who salvage antique log cabins and barns.

"The show celebrates the American pioneer spirit, and pays tribute to the hard work and craftsmanship that built our nation."

The show's team recently took down a barn in the Brookville area and during that process stopped and shopped at Sawyer's Nursery and Landscaping.

The show is hosted by Mark Bowe.

The show's website describes the episode as, "The Barnwood Builders score a major salvage from a barn near one of America's oldest pine forests in Brookville, Pennsylvania.

"Later, Mark and Sherman visit a local mill that turns reclaimed wood into spectacular products and Mark finds a perfect example of a hand-painted barnwood billboard."

The DIY Network airs on various channels, depending on the service provider.
