C-L parents, are you aware?

I am writing this in concern over the electing of the 2022 prom queen and king at Clarion-Limestone High School.
First of all, I am "not" upset over the two students who received the honors this year but the manner in which the election was handled.
The students did vote for the prom court but were not given the privilege of voting for a prom king and queen.
You might now be asking yourself -- then who did vote? The answer is the teachers.
Since when is it the teachers job to vote for prom queen and king? This is the right of the students not the teachers. It is the junior and senior prom not the teachers' prom.
I am not quite sure as to why things were handled in this manner but I feel if the students were capable of electing the prom court they surely were competent to also choose the king and queen from the court.
If the teachers believe they need to elect the prom queen and king, perhaps they should have their own prom.
Did the teachers feel that these students, of which many may be near or of the age to vote for president of the U.S., didn't have the capabilities to choose their own prom king and queen wisely? Really?
It is time for C-L parents as well as other school districts to wake up. Then, again, possibly all the parents of those attending the prom knew the manner in which things were being handled and were OK with it or they didn't care or possibly were afraid of repercussions if they spoke up and voiced an opinion.
I also question whether every teacher in the high school was given the privilege to vote or was it a select few?
Possibly the same students would have been chosen if the students had been given the chance to vote and I am certainly not trying to diminish the honor placed on the two chosen but I am wanting and hoping that people wake up stay alert to what is happening in your schools with your children.
Don't be afraid to speak up as well as stand up for your child, if needed. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Right now, I am asking questions. If not questioned, these types of actions will continue not a good thing in my eyes.
I have always been supportive of C-L teachers and school and will continue to do so but someone needs to be held accountable for these actions.
Some people may feel and think I am being petty but am I?
