This wonderful holiday was created hundreds of years ago by a people who risked everything to come to a new land. They gave their lives to develop a nation they felt was a calling of God for freedom of religion.
People had many different motives for this big change in their lives. In the beginning, it was to serve the king. Not the king of England but the king in heavenly places. His guidance is all over the development of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
Pray for our wonderful country that the Socialist, Communist, Marxist Party will not accomplish the destruction they have planned for over 100 years.
I thought I would approach Thanksgiving in a different way by using just God's word to us. Each Bible verse below will have the location and a key word.
As you read and pray, please remember all blessings come from the cross and Christ Jesus' sacrifice with his blood for each of us. Rejoice!
John 20:28 (NEV) Thomas said, "My Lord, and my God." Jesus said, "Because you have seen me you have found faith. Happy are they who never saw me and you have found faith."
Rev. 4:8 (NEV) "Holy, holy, holy is God the sovereign Lord of all who was and is and is to come."
Proverbs 16:2 (NIV) "All man's ways seem innocent to him but motives are weighed by the Lord."
John 12:13 "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Blessed is the King of Israel."
Proverbs 4:4 (NIV) "Lay hold of my words with all your heart keep my command and you will live."
Psalm 23 (NIV) "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want."
John 3:16 (NEV) "God loved the world so much that he have his only son, that everyone who has faith in him may not die but have eternal life."
I: Into the world
John 3:17 "It was not to judge the world that God sent his son into the world but that through him the world might be saved."
Ephesians 1:17 "I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the all glorious father, may give you the spiritual powers of wisdom and vision by which there comes the knowledge of him."
Ephesians 1:18 "I pray that your inward eyes may be illumined so that you may know what is the hope to which he calls you what the wealth and glory of the share he offers you among his people in the heritage and how vast the resources of his power open to us who trust in him."
Philippians 2:5-11 (NEV) Let your bearing toward one another arise out of your life in Christ Jesus. "For the divine nature was his from the first yet he did not think to snatch all equality with God but made himself nothing assuming the nature of a slave bearing the human likeness, received in human shape, he humbled himself and in obedience accepted even death death on the cross.
"Therefore, God raised him to the height and bestowed on him the name above all names that the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in the heavens, on the Earth and in the depth and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father."
Ephesians 2:4-9 (NEV) "But God rich in mercy for the great love he bore us brought us to life with Christ even when we were dead in our sin: it is by his grace you are saved.
"And in union with Christ Jesus he raised us up and enthroned us with him in the heavenly realms so that he might display in the ages to come how immense are the resources of his grace and how great his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
"For it is by his grace you are saved through trusting him; it is not your own doing. It is God's gift not a reward for work done."
