Clarion 3, Keystone 0

KNOX Clarion's Korrin Burns piled up 25 kills and nine digs to help lead the visiting Bobcats to a 26-24, 25-14, 25-18 win over Keystone in a KSAC tilt Oct. 21.

The win clinched the KSAC title for Clarion as the Bobcats finished regular season play with a 14-0 record.

Aryana Girvan added nine kills for Clarion while Adia Needham served for 16 points with three aces.

Noel Anthony had 33 assists and eight points for the Bobcats while Payton Simko had nine digs and seven points and Grace Ochs had seven digs.

Leah Exley paced Keystone with seven kills while Sydney Bell had five kills and four blocks. Alyssa Weaver added 10 assists, five digs and three points for the Panthers while Jozee Weaver had eight points and three kills.

A-C Valley 3, Union 0

RIMERSBURG A-C Valley's Meah Ielase had 10 kills and 10 digs to help the visiting Falcons to a 25-13, 26-24, 25-17 win over Union in KSAC action Oct. 21.

Lexi Ruckdeschel added seven kills and four blocks for A-C Valley while Paige Klingler had 13 digs and five aces. Jenna Stefanacci chimed in with 14 assists for the Falcons and Mackenzie Parks had 11 digs.

Dominika Logue paced the Golden Damsels with five kills, five digs and two aces while Hailey Kriebel and Cheyenne Dowling had three kills each. Union's Kennedy Vogle posted seven digs and two aces.

Clarion 3, Redbank Valley 0

NEW BETHLEHEM Clarion's Korrin Burns amassed 16 kills, five digs and three aces to help the visiting Bobcats to a 25-19, 25-11, 25-20 win over Redbank Valley in KSAC play Oct. 20.

Noel Anthony had 30 assists and 10 points with four aces for Clarion while Payton Simko had six kills and five digs.

Aryana Girvan provided the Bobcats with eight kills while Jordan Best had five points and five digs and Adia Needham had seven points.

Alivia Huffman paced the Bulldogs with six digs while Carlie Rupp had nine digs, Caylen Rearick had eight digs and Lilly Shaffer had nine assists.


Clarion 6, Punxsutawney 0

CLARION Clarion's Anna Gribik had two goals and two assists to help the Bobcats to a 6-0 win over Punxsutawney Oct. 20.

Joyce Kim chimed in with a goal and three assists for Clarion while Alexis Coull had a goal and an assist.

Evelyn Lerch and Ruby Smith each had a goal for the Bobcats while Julianna Wilson had an assist.

Clarion netminder Chesney Boggess preserved the shutout.


McNaughton wins individual crown at KSAC Invite

KARNS CITY Clarion-Limestone's Morgan McNaughton finished with a time of 20:21 to claim first place in the girls' race at the KSAC Invitational Oct. 21 at Karns City High School.

McNaughton's effort helped the Lions to a second place finish in the team standings behind Cranberry.

North Clarion's Brynn Siegel finished second overall and her teammate Jordyn Hendrickson finished ninth as the Wolves finished third in the team standings.

Also posting top ten finishes were Clarion's Bella Scott who finished eighth and Keystone's Cailyn Heilman finished 10th. Heilman's finish led the Panthers to a fourth place finish in the team standings.

A-C Valley/Union's Drew Whitcomb finished 14th overall.

In the boys' race, C-L finished second in the team standings behind Cranberry with the Lions' Logan Lutz and Jack Craig finishing eighth and ninth overall, respectively. The Lions' Ty Rankin added an 11th place finish while Cody Whitling was 17th and Corbin Coulson was 25th.

North Clarion's Kaine McFarland finished third overall and Aiden Thomas finished sixth as the Wolves finished third in the team standings. North Clarion's Gabriel Fair was 19th overall while Braden Custer was 24th and Parker Evans was 34th.

Payton Johnston led A-C Valley/Union with a 15th place finish while Keystone's Josiah Hansford was 20th and Clarion's Ryan Alston was 23rd.

KNOX - Due to illness, the Keystone boys' basketball team was unable to play or hold practice for a little more than two weeks but if the Panthers suffered any rust from the prolonged shutdown, it didn't show.

COUDERSPORT - The Clarion and Redbank Valley wrestling teams traveled to the county seat of Potter County last Saturday (Jan. 8) for the Coudersport Duals. Each team wrestled five matches; the Bobcats posting a 2-3 record and the Bulldogs going 3-2.
