FOXBURG Union/A-C Valley's Tanner Merwin hauled in three touchdown passes to help the Falcon Knights to a 52-0 win over visiting Cameron County in a District 9 Small School crossover Oct. 11.

Merwin hauled in a total of four passes for 59 yards,

Union/A-C Valley quarterback Luke Bowser completed 16-of-24 passes for 194 yards and four TDs.

The Falcon Knights' Caden Rainey hauled in six passes for 87 yards and a score.

Kyle Culberston and Eli Penny each added a rushing touchdown for Union/A-C Valley while Colton Hoffman returned a fumble 39 yards for a score.

Culbertson totaled 70 yards on the ground while Penny contributed 62 rushing yards.

On defense, Merwin had an interception while Andrew Verotek made 10 tackles.

Coudersport 56, Redbank Valley 0

COUDERSPORT In a cross-division showdown between unbeaten District 9 Class A teams, Coudersport made it known the Falcons are the unquestioned team to beat in the district by dropping visiting Redbank Valley 56-0 Oct. 12.

Coudersport rolled out to a 28-0 halftime lead and cruised the rest of the way to seal the 56-0 win.

The Bulldogs' Justin Ferringer had 21 rushing yards on four carries while Ray Shreckengost had 19 yards on nine carries.

Redbank Valley quarterback Gunner Mangiantini completed just 4-of-12 passes for 24 yards and threw three interceptions before leaving the game in the third quarter with an injury.


Clarion 3, Union 0

RIMERSBURG - Clarion's Kaitlyn Constantino amassed 16 kills, 12 points with five aces and six digs to help lead the visiting Bobcats to a 25-22, 25-7, 25-14 win over Union in KSAC play Oct. 10.

Jordan Best chimed in with nine points, eight kills and five digs for Clarion while Korrin Burns totaled seven points, six kills and five digs. Brenna Campbell dished out 26 assists while serving for 13 points and making seven digs for Clarion while Kyara Girvan posted 10 digs and five assists.

Dominika Logue and Drew Davis each had three kills for the Golden Damsels with Logue serving for a pair of aces. Hailey Kriebel also had two kills for Union.

Redbank Valley 3, Keystone 1

NEW BETHLEHEM Redbank Valley's Taylor King was a force at the net for the Bulldogs recording 16 kills to pace Redbank Valley to a 25-19, 18-25, 25-17, 25-18 win over Keystone in KSAC action Oct. 10.

Montana Hetrick contributed nine points and seven kills for the Bulldogs while Becca Kunselman registered six kills and six points.

Tara Hinderliter provided 35 assists and seven points for the Bulldogs while Brynn Rearick made 19 digs and Brooke Holben totaled 10 points with three aces and five assists.

Alyssa Dunlap piled up eight points, seven digs and five kills for the Panthers while McKenna Kaye totaled 11 digs, six assists, four points and three kills. Ceayra Altman chipped in 10 points with three aces, five digs and four kills.

A-C Valley 3, Venango Catholic 0

FOXBURG A-C Valley's Mia Sherman recorded 10 kills to help the host Falcons to a 25-9, 25-13, 25-15 win over Venango Catholic in KSAC play Oct. 11.

Andrea Meals provided 14 digs and eight kills for A-C Valley while Meah Ielase served for 12 points with three aces and made five kills.

Clarion 3, Maplewood 2

CLARION Korrin Burns amassed 28 kills, 13 digs and seven points to help the Bobcats rally from a two-games-to-one deficit to take down visiting Maplewood in a five-set thriller in a clash of region volleyball powers Oct. 10.

Clarion won the first game 25-23 but Maplewood countered with wins of 25-15, 25-23 in the second and third games but the Bobcats responded with wins of 26-24 and 15-13 to seal the win over the District 10 Tigers.

Brenna Campbell dished out 42 assists for Clarion while serving for 10 points with three aces and making eight digs and Kaitlyn Constantino ripped 15 kills while providing 12 digs and 10 points.

Kyara Girvan chimed in with 12 digs and 12 points with three aces for the Bobcats while Maddie Schill had six points with two aces and Jordan Best made six digs.


McCracken finishes in top 50 at Rocky Grove Invite

FRANKLIN Clarion-Limestone's Jessica McCracken finished in 37th place at the Rocky Grove Invitational at Two Mile Run Park on Oct. 12.

The Lions did not have enough runners to qualify for the team competition.

Keystone, which also did not have enough runners to qualify for the team competition, was led by Thea Haugh who finished in 92nd place.

A-C Valley finished in 15th place in the team standings with Avah Burke finishing 94th overall.

In the boys' race, A-C Valley finished in 25th place with Payton Johnston finishing in 145th place.

Braden Rankin led C-L with a 54th place finish while Quincy Hannold led Keystone with an 84th place finish. C-L and Keystone did not have enough runners to qualify for the team standings.
