RENO - The 13th Annual Bill Beith Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Wanango Country Club in Reno on Monday, June 14. There will be a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
The event is sponsored by the City of Franklin and the Franklin Retail and Business Association. Proceeds benefit the City of Franklin Downtown Development Fund with an emphasis on downtown festivals and events and the Franklin Retail Events Fund.

Beith was a long-time City of Franklin employee who was beloved for his work with the area children, his tireless support of Franklin's festivals, and his passion for the Franklin community.
He was a 1963 graduate of Franklin High School where he was well-known as a gifted athlete participating in all sports.
Employed for eight years as the physical director at the Franklin YMCA, he volunteered for the City of Franklin from 1975 to 1978 at which time he became the recreation director for the city. In 1989, he took over the position of code enforcement and zoning officer for the City of Franklin, retiring from that position in March 2006. Beith then worked with Beith Associates.
His love of Franklin showed throughout his accomplishments such as developing with his wife, Ronnie, the Franklin Fine Arts Council and numerous festivals and events. In addition to his many other accomplishments, Beith was awarded the "Artist of the Year" in 1990 for his work developing the arts in the region.
STRATTANVILLE - The Strattanville Sportsman Club is holding turkey shoots this until May 23.
The shoots will be held May 2, May 9, May 16 and May 23 at 1 p.m.

The cost is $2 per round unless you shoot all 10 rounds then the cost is $1.50 per shot
The club provides the ammunition.
BIG FISH CONTEST
HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau is proud to announce their eighth annual Big Fish Contest running now through June 30.
There is no shortage of great places to cast a line in Pennsylvania's Great Outdoors region. Everyone is invited to enter photos of their catch, from Jefferson, Elk, Clarion, Forest, and Cameron Counties, by using the online submission form at VisitPAGO.com/BigFish.The grand prize is a guided half-day smallmouth bass fly-fishing float trip for two in 2022 with Keystone Predator Outfitters and guide Todd Deluccia.
Everyone who submits a photo, during one of the three contest months, will be entered to win an assortment of prizes.

FOXBURG - The Society of Hickory Golfers has announced the 13th Annual Foxburg Hickory Championship will be held Friday Aug. 13 and Saturday Aug. 14, at the historic Foxburg Country Club.
There are multiple competitions within the Foxburg Hickory Championship. The Championship's pre-1900 categories include Open, Senior (55-65) and Super Senior (66-and-older), Open and Senior (65-and-older) for the post-1900 division.
The featured event is the pre-1900 Open division; the FHC is one of the few pre-1900 events east of the Mississippi, along with the National Hickory Championship, the Wisconsin Gutty Challenge.
The entry fee for 2021 is $250 for men ($200 for Foxburg Country Club members). Entry fee includes golf both days and contestant meals at the course. Gutty balls engineered for period play (extra balls will be available at the event's cost) will be issued to each contestant. Meals at the course include Friday brunch on the first day, and a very nice buffet luncheon Saturday afternoon, immediately after play has completed.
The course plays at 2,400 yards for the pre-1900 Championship. Even with the modern' hickories, the small greens and tricky layout will test your patience and skill level. The course has proven to be a fair test and tremendous fun. As with all hickory events, contestants are encouraged to dress in period attire.
There is a nominal additional cost to include your spouse/guest for either Friday's lunch or the award buffet. There is also a meal scheduled the evening of the first day at a local restaurant (not included in the entry fee).

Open Division Contestants will use the Park ball and use sand tees.
Reserve Division Contestants can use their choice of the Park, Braid, or Vardon style ball. They may use modern tees if they wish.
Post 1900 Division Contestants will use the Ouimet mesh ball
All contestants and divisions are permitted to use riding carts and or carry bags.
The Championship is hosted by the Foxburg Country Club, and follows the Society of Hickory Golfers tournament guidelines regarding equipment, rules, and handicaps.
