Pleasantville finishes second for season
MEADVILLE The Pleasantville pitching duo of Chase Palmer and Cole Slaugenhoup gave up a combined three hits and struck out six but it wasn't enough as Meadville topped Pleasantville 3-2 in the Fall Baseball League championship game Sept. 29.
Pleasantville finished second overall in the 12-team league.
Meadville scored all of its run in the first inning and held on for the 3-2 win.
Pleasantville hitters collected five singles on the day.
Pleasantville advanced to the championship game with a 4-3 win over Mercyhurst Prep in the league semifinals.
Jayce Miner led the way for Pleasantville totaling a pair of doubles while tossing five innings on the mound.
Miner and Palmer combined to two-hit Mercyhurst Prep while striking out nine.
Josh Daum had a three-run double for Pleasantville while Ethan Kerr, Bryce Byers and Bay Harper each had a hit for Pleasantville.
