Redbank Valley 49, Bucktail 6

RENOVO Visiting Redbank Valley ripped out to a 30-0 lead at halftime on the way to a 49-6 win over Bucktail in a District 9 Small School South tilt Friday (Oct. 8).

Ray Shreckengost had two touchdown runs of 9 and 4 yards in the Bulldogs' 24-point second quarter outburst.

Shreckengost had 39 yards on 11 carries.

Ashton Kahle began the Redbank Valley scoring barrage returning a Bucktail punt 72 yards for a touchdown early in the first quarter.

Bulldogs' quarterback Bryson Bain completed 12-of-18 passes for 149 yards and two scores. Bain connected with Marquese Gardlock for a 14-yard TD in the second period and combined with Aiden Ortz for a 27-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. Bain also had a 1-yard touchdown plunge in the second quarter.

Gardlock caught three passes for 37 yards while Ortz had two catches for 49 yards.

Joe Mansfield had a 56-yard touchdown run for Redbank Valley while Kaden Neiswonger pulled in a 5-yard TD pass from Gunner Mangiantini.

The Bulldogs outgained Bucktail 286-71.

BOYS SOCCER

Clarion-Limestone 5, DuBois 1

CLARION TWP. - Clarion-Limestone's Beau Verdill and Cody Whitling each scored a pair of goals as the Lions downed visiting DuBois 5-1 Oct. 7.

Wyatt Borden also had a goal for C-L.

Thomas Uckert dished out an assist for the Lions.

GIRLS SOCCER

Forest Area 1, Redbank Valley 1 (2OT)

TIONESTA Forest Area and Redbank Valley played two full overtimes Oct. 8 but couldn't decide a winner as the teams came away with a 1-1 tie.

Shawna Pack had the Fires lone goal while Redbank Valley's tally came on an own goal by Forest Area.

Forest Area netminder Emma McFarland made 23 stops in net.

VOLLEYBALL

Redbank Valley 3, Moniteau 1

WEST SUNBURY Redbank Valley's Alivia Huffman pounded home 21 kills as the visiting Bulldogs toppled Moniteau 24-26, 25-5, 25-20,26-24 in KSAC play Oct. 7.

Makayla Monrean followed with 12 kills for Redbank Valley while Taylor Ripple had nine kills.

Caylen Rearick and Carlie Rupp contributed 20 and 11 digs, respectively, for the Bulldogs while Lilly Shaffer dished out 43 assists.

Clarion-Limestone 3, Karns City 0

CLARION TWP. - Clarion-Limestone's Brooke Kessler, Ruby Smith and Jenna Dunn teamed up for 23 kills to help the Lions to a 25-26, 25-12, 25-22 win over visiting Karns City in a KSAC tilt Oct. 7.

Kessler had 10 kills while Smith and Dunn posted seven and six kills, respectively.

Kendall Dunn handed out 27 assists for the Lions.

Cranberry 3, A-C Valley 0

SENECA Host Cranberry took care of visiting A-C Valley in short order as the Berries downed the Falcons 25-19, 25-22, 25-20 in KSAC action Oct. 7.

Lexi Ruckdeschel posted five kills and 12 digs for the Falcons while Paige Klingler and Baylee Blauser each had four kills with Klingler making 11 digs while Blauser contributed two blocks.

Mackenzie Parks posted 13 digs for A-C Valley while Jenna Stefanacci had 13 assists.

Keystone 3, North Clarion 0

FRILLS CORNERS Keystone's Jozee Weaver totaled nine kills and two blocks to help the visiting Panthers to a 25-20, 25-22, 25-21 win over North Clarion in KSAC action Oct. 6.

Alyssa Weaver posted 11 points and 11 assists for Keystone while Sydney Bell had nine points and eight kills.

Kennedy Kaye posted 10 digs and seven points for the Panthers.

Makenzie Lupole led the Wolves with 10 kills while Brenna Thompson made five blocks and Alana Brooks had 20 digs and seven points.

Union 3, Venango Catholic 0

RIMERSBURG Union's Dominika Logue totaled 10 kills and eight digs to lead the host Golden Damsels to a 25-14, 25-20, 25-12 win over Venango Catholic in KSAC action Oct. 6.

Hailey Kriebel had five kills and three aces for Union while Taylor Shick also had five kills.

Keira Croyle dished out 10 assists and made two kills for the Golden Damsels while Grace Kindel had seven assists and four aces and Kya Wetzel made three kills.

Keystone 3, Forest Area 0

TIONESTA The Keystone trio of Kennedy Kaye, Natalie Bowser and Sydney Bell combined to serve 25 aces as the visiting Panthers took down Forest Area 25-9, 25-10, 25-5 in KSAC play Oct. 8.

Kaye had 17 points and 10 aces while Bowser totaled 11 points with nine aces and Sydney Bell served for 10 points with six aces.

Emma Plummer had five kills for Keystone while Bryanna Mong handed out seven assists.

BOYS GOLF

Clarion finishes second in team subregional

DUBOIS Clarion's Kameron Kerle shot an 83 to lead the Bobcats but Union City had two golfers shoot in the 70s as Union City downed Clarion 330-344 in the PIAA Class AA subregional at Treasure Lake Golf Course Oct. 7.

Devin Lauer, McKayla Kerle and Luca Mitrosky each shot an 87 for the Bobcats.

C-L's McNaughton and North Clarion's Siegel earn individual medals at Ridgway Invite

RIDGWAY Clarion-Limestone's Morgan McNaughton finished third in the girls' race while North Clarion's Brynn Siegel finished 13th as each earned a medal at the Ridgway Invitational Oct. 9.

The Lions finished sixth overall.

Clara Coulson added a 31st place finish for C-L while Jessica McCracken was 40th, Olivia Radaker was 44th and Aaron Madison was 66th.

North Clarion finished ninth in the girls' standings. Behind Siegel, the Wolves' Katie Bauer registered a 47th place finish while Kaylee Castner was 60th, Emily McCaslin was 74th and Paige Henry 66th.

In the boys' race, C-L was the lone area school to have enough runners to qualify for the team standings as the Lions finished sixth overall.

Logan Lutz led C-L with a 26th place effort while Jack Craig was 41st, Tye Rankin was 45th, Corbin Coulson was 57thand Cody Whitling was 58th.

North Clarion's Kaine McFarland earned a medal by finishing 14th overall.

Gavin Hoover was Clarion's top runner taking home a 37th place finish.

Wow, what a weekend of racing to complete the 2021 season. Lernerville Speedway held their Steel City Stampede which featured 10 different divisions plus a 100-lap Enduro. The event took place over three days as Thursday night was practice for all drivers in all the divisions.
