Bauer and Hendrickson pace Wolves teams

FRILLS CORNERS North Clarion's Jacob Bauer posted a time of 17:59 while Jordyn Hendrickson logged a time of 21:38 to help the respective Wolves' boys' and girls' cross country teams to wins over visiting Moniteau in a KSAC dual meet.

Bauer's efforts helped North Clarion to a 31-37 win over Moniteau in the boys' race.

The Wolves' Kaine McFarland followed with a second place finish while Braden Custer was fifth, Aaron Lencer was sixth and Wyatt Troup was seventh.

Hendrickson's first place effort helped the North Clarion girls' to a 22-39 win over the Warriors.

Rachel Bauer added a third place finish for the Wolves while Katie Bauer was fifth, Nicole Fair was sixth and Addison Shftic was seventh.


Redbank Valley 3, Karns City 0

KARNS CITY Redbank Valley's Taylor King totaled 13 kills and six points to help the visiting Bulldogs to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-16 win over Karns City in KSAC play Oct. 8.

Tara Hinderliter provided 30 assists and 10 points for Redbank Valley while Lauren Smith served for 11 points.

Montana Hetrick chimed in with seven kills for the Bulldogs while Becca Kunselman made six kills. Kianna Shreckengost provided four kills and four assists for Redbank Valley while Alivia Huffman had five points and four kills.

Union 3, Clarion-Limestone 2

RIMERSBURG Union's Dominika Logue and Drew Davis combined for 20 kills to help the Golden Damsels to a 29-27, 23-25, 25-13, 21-25, 15-13 win over visiting Clarion-Limestone in KSAC play Oct. 7.

Logue had 11 kills while Davis provided nine kills.

Drew Yoder added 13 digs and two kills for Union while Morgan Cumberland provided 25 assists and two aces and Emma Pritchard notched five kills and two aces.

Ruby Smith paced the Lions with six kills, four blocks and seven digs while Celia Shaffer made five kills. Kendall Dunn dished out eight assists for C-L while Brooke Kessler notched four kills, six digs and five aces.

Keystone 3, Oil City 0

OIL CITY Keystone's Alyssa Dunlap provided 11 kills, six digs and two blocks to help the visiting Panthers to a 25-16, 25-13, 25-22 win over Oil City in non-conference play Oct. 7.

McKenna Kaye added 11 points with three aces and five assists for Keystone while Ceyara Altman totaled 12 points with five aces, four digs and two kills and Emma Burrows made six digs.

Cranberry 3, North Clarion 0

SENECA host Cranberry swept past North Clarion 25-13, 25-16, 25-4 in a KSAC matchup Oct. 7.

Sara Aaron led the way for the Wolves with 10 assists, eight digs and four points while Amya Green made five kills and two digs. Lily Parrish added three kills for North Clarion while Gabby Schmader provided 10 digs.


Forest Area 4, Kane 3 (OT)

KANE Forest Area's Olivia Siegel scored a goal in the waning moments of the first overtime period to propel the visiting Fires to a 4-3 win over Kane Oct. 8.

The win clinches a playoff berth for Forest Area in the upcoming District 9 Class A playoffs.

Abby Gatesman provided two goals for the Fires including a second half tally that sent the game into the extra period.

Raegan Pack also had a goal for the Fires.

Shawna Pack made six saves in net for Forest Area.

Clarion 5, Ridgway 1

CLARION Clarion's Anna Gribik secured a hat trick to help the Bobcats to a 5-1 win over visiting Ridgway Oct. 7.

Megan Stahlman and Emily Grabiak each had a goal for Clarion in the win.
